Arsenal Set To Table £22m Bid For 26-Goal Striker – Reports

By on April 27, 2015

Some exciting reports flying about today claiming that Arsenal are set to table an opening £22m offer for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The 23-year-old is having a sensational season in France and his 26th goal of the campaign on Sunday helped Lyon climb above PSG to the top of the Ligue 1 table.

Arsene Wenger is believed to have sent his chief French-based scout, Gilles Grimandi, to watch the striker in action this season and it appears he’s ready to make his move.

According to a report in the Express, Arsene has identified Lacazette as a key target this summer and is set to test Lyon’s resolve with an opening bid of £22m.

The French clubs president, Jean-Michel Aulas, is a tough negotiator so I highly doubt he’ll agree to sell his star asset for that much in today’s market, but at least it will be a starting point for further negotiations.

Lyon have insisted they won’t sell the striker as they want him to be their poster-boy when they move into their new stadium next season, so it’s going to be tough to lure him away.

He’s also got strong ties with the club as he’s been there his entire career, but hopefully we can persuade him to try a new challenge in England and push for a move.

I’d absolutely love us to sign Lacazette as he has the potential to be a real star. He has pace, he’s strong and he certainly knows where the goal is, so fingers crossed these reports are accurate and we intend to make a formal move.

The Bear would love to see Alexandre L wearing the club colours and playing at the home of football.

Hope this is not just empty chat.
