Trio To Step-Up Comebacks By Playing For Arsenal U21’s Tonight
Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta and Abou Diaby will continue to step-up their comebacks from injury by playing for the Arsenal Under-21’s tonight.
Steve Gatting’s side take on Stoke City at the Emirates this evening in their Under-21 league clash and some of the first team players will use the game to get some much-needed playing time under their belts.
Wilshere, Debuchy, Arteta and Diaby all made their comebacks during a friendly win over Brentford last week but none were included in the squad that beat Liverpool 4-1 on Saturday.
As we can only field three players over 21, Debuchy has been excused from duty tonight but Wilshere, Arteta and Diaby will all get further playing time as they look to prove their fitness ahead of next weekend’s trip to Burnley.
Let’s hope they all come through the game unscathed and put themselves in Arsene Wenger’s thoughts for a first team return.
Serge Gnabry, Krystasn Bielik and Gedion Zelalem are all set to play for the Under-21’s tonight.
