€40m Striker To Agree Arsenal Move, Talks Due This Week

By on March 24, 2015

According to reports in Spain, Paulo Dybala is ready to accept a move to Arsenal with talks over a potential €40m deal due to be held this week.

Dybala is one of the hottest properties in Europe right now after scoring 12 goals and providing a further 8 assists for Palermo in Serie A this season.

Arsenal are one of several clubs who’ve been strongly linked with the Argentinean international in recent months but it appears we could have moved into pole position for his signature.

Speculation over the weekend claimed that Arsenal were set to meet with Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini this week to hold formal talks about a deal and now reports coming out of Spain suggest that Dybala is ready to agree a move to North London.

It was previously thought that the 21-year-old favoured a switch to Juventus, but the Italian champions don’t have the financial clout we can now offer, so it looks as though the young striker has had a change of heart.

Palermo have already confirmed that they’ll sell Dybala this summer after he snubbed their contract extension offer and Zamparini was quoted as saying a deal could be agreed before the this month, but warned he wouldn’t be sold for less than €40m.

Speaking earlier this month, the Palermo president said:

“A team should close the signing of Dybala in the next 15 days,”

“He will not go for less than €40million euros.”

I never really bought into the speculation linking us with Dybala before but there certainly seems to be concrete interest now and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we’re looking at the player while Theo Walcott’s future at the club is uncertain.

Dybala is predominantly a striker but he’s also capable of playing out wide, so I have a feeling Arsene is viewing him as a potential replacement for Theo if he doesn’t sign a new contract soon.

And there I was thinking the transfer window was closed. Why do you keep repeating stories that cannot be true?
