Arsenal Handed Double Injury Boost Ahead Of QPR Clash
Arsenal have been handed a double injury boost ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Loftus Road to take on Queens Park Rangers.
According to the Daily Mail, Aaron Ramsey is set to return to the squad while Francis Coquelin could yet play despite breaking his nose against Everton on Sunday.
Ramsey has been on the sidelines for the last three weeks after straining his hamstring during the latter stages of our win over Leicester last month.
He returned to full training on Friday and now it’s understood he’ll be back in contention to face QPR on Wednesday night.
His return to fitness comes at an important time as Jack Wilshere has suffered a minor set-back in his recovery from ankle surgery while Mikel Arteta remains out with a calf problem.
Coquelin was expected to join his fellow central midfielders on the sidelines after being forced off late on on Sunday with a broken nose.
However, the Daily Mail claim that even though we still don’t know if he’ll need surgery, Wenger hasn’t ruled out playing the Frenchman against QPR. The clubs medical staff will make a late call on him but if Coquelin does play, he’ll have to wear a protective face mask.
I hope we don’t take any unnecessary risks with him as Flamini is also available again after recovering from a hamstring injury, so I’d give Coquelin the night off and make sure he doesn’t do any more damage to that nose.
