Photo: Mesut Ozil Gives Shirt To Boro Manager After Arsenal Win
Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil produced a superb performance to help Arsenal to a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough at the Emirates this afternoon.
The German international ran the game and although he didn’t register any assists or goals, he created 7 opportunities for his team mates in a MOTM display.
Boro boss Aitor Karanka praised Ozil ahead of the game, saying he was a fantastic player, and he went straight to him after the match to get a souvenir; his shirt.
It’s rather unusual for a player to give his shirt to the opposing manager, but Karanka knows Ozil from their time together at Real Madrid (just like Jose Mourinho – who also got Ozil’s shirt after a game last season).
Karanka was asked about it after the game and he told reporters that he got Ozil’s shirt to give to his son.
