Arsenal Fans Enraged As ‘Useless’ Ref Appointed For Aston Villa Game

By on January 26, 2015

Arsenal fans have been left enraged after Anthony Taylor was appointed by the FA to referee our clash with Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.

We welcome the Villains to the Emirates this weekend in good form and off the back off an excellent run that’s seen us win six of our last seven games.

However, all that could mean nothing on Sunday if a certain Anthony Taylor has anything to do with it.

Some of you may recall that Taylor was in charge the last time Villa came to the Emirates on the opening day of last season and put in one of the worst refereeing displays ever witnessed as we slumped to a 3-1 defeat.

Taylor was completely useless and made numerous bizarre decisions which had a direct effect on the result of the game, including:

  • awarding a penalty to Villa despite allowing advantage to be played when Szczesny took out Agbonlahor. A Villa player sent the ball wide of an open goal and Taylor decided to give the penalty anyway giving them two bites at the cherry, so to speak.
  • he also awarded another penalty to Villa despite Koscielny clearly playing the ball and confounded his error by booking the Frenchman.
  • minutes later, Taylor then gave Koscielny a second yellow card for a minor challenge, ending any hopes we had of getting back in the game.

These were three HUGE game-changing decisions he got wrong so it was no surprise the FA subsequently axed him for the next weeks fixtures following his horrendous performance.

So it begs the question why on earth the FA would hand Taylor the same fixture again this season?! Answers on a post-card….

Here are some stats to really get you in the mood for Sunday’s game:

Dont forget the absolutely shocking performance he put in when Arsenal played Stoke away this season. This man is worse than Mike Dean IMO and shouldnt be allowed near a football match. Hes a disgrace to the game

You’ve spent the last few years moaning about one of the best managers the premier league has ever seen!! Try being a villa fan!! With the best record of any team at the Emirates seems to me your looking for excuses for the potential dropping of points

Im sorry; should nothing be said when a ref is SO clearly bias and/or just completely useless? Its not just one game, when this happens time and time again i think you would get pretty annoyed as well. These refs are part of the reason English football is so awful these days.

Ref Taylor is a product of set back to modern football in the world not only in England, let us see if he can amend and do the needful to improve on his assignment, Arsenal team is not begging for favor from him, but he should be plain in his judgement, his soft spot for Aston Villa has expose him, so all eyes over the whole world are on him especially as the game is being played on sunday lunch time. Wenger should tell his players to stick to their self esteem patern of playing. Good luck the gooners.
