More Bad News As Wenger Offers Ramsey & Koscielny Injury Update
Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Aaron Ramsey and Laurent Koscielny will both be out for ‘a few weeks’ through injury.
Ramsey was withdrawn at half-time during our 4-1 win over Galatasaray last week after picking up a hamstring problem.
Arsene initially said he took the Welshman off as a precaution and he expected him to be fit for the weekend clash with Newcastle.
However, the injury turned out to be worse than first thought and Rambo was forced to sit on the sidelines as we beat the Magpies 4-1 at the Emirates on Saturday night.
Now, the boss has confirmed that the hamstring injury will keep Ramsey out ‘for a few weeks’.
In a double blow, the midfielder will be joined on the sidelines by Laurent Koscielny with Arsene also revealing that the centre-back is facing some time out due to a calf problem.
Having missed eight weeks with an Achilles injury, Koscielny only last two games before suffering a calf problem and now it looks like he’ll be out for the foreseeable future too.
The boss told Arsenal.com:
on Ramsey and Koscielny’s injuries…
I have a better idea. Ramsey will be out for a few weeks and Koscielny as well. They will not be back next week.
It means that Ramsey and Kos will join an ever-growing injury list that already includes Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, Mesut Ozil, Nacho Monreal, Abou Diaby, Tomas Rosicky and Theo Walcott.
Theo and Monreal could be back in the squad to face Liverpool next weekend, but all the others are going to miss the festive period when we face the likes of QPR, Wets Ham, Southampton and Hull (FA Cup), so our resources are going to be stretched to their limit.
