PHOTO: Koscielny Returns To Training But Quartet Not Involved
Laurent Koscielny gave Arsenal a major boost this morning after returning to full training but Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere, Wojciech Szczesny and Theo Walcott weren’t involved.
Koscielny has been hugely missed in recent weeks after being ruled out with an on-going Achilles injury and Arsene didn’t expect him back in training until December.
However, as you can see from the image above, the Frenchman was a surprise face at training this morning as the squad was put through their paces ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund.
It’s highly unlikely he’ll be rushed back to feature against the Germans but it’s still a major boost to have him back sooner than expected.
However, it wasn’t all good news as reporters at the open training session confirmed that Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere, Wojciech Szczesny and Theo Walcott weren’t involved this morning.
Walcott missed Saturday’s loss to United with a minor groin strain and it looks like he’s set to miss out again tomorrow.
The situation with Welbeck is less clear. He was a doubt for the United game with a hamstring strain and he did appear to feel his hamstring during the closing stages on Saturday, so perhaps he’s been left out of training as a precaution.
Jack was forced off with an ankle injury against United and there are rumours he could be out for up to 10 weeks, but Szczesny’s hip injury isn’t thought to be serious after he too was substituted on Saturday.
Arsene is due to hold his press conference at 12.30pm so we should know more about the team news shortly. We’ll bring you the latest as we get it….
