Arsenal have secured the future of highly-rated centre-back Stefan O’Connor after he signed a three-year contract with the club.

O’Connor is viewed as a real star of the future by many of the clubs youth coaches and Arsene Wenger is known to be a big fan of the players.

In fact, the 17-year-old has already spent time training with the first team after putting in some impressive displays for the Under-21’s.

So understandably, the boss was keen to tie him down to a professional contract as soon as possible and thankfully terms were quickly agreed.

O’Connor confirmed on Twitter that he’s now signed his deal, which is reported to run for three seasons.

“Very happy to of signed my first professional contract @Arsenal.

“Thanks to everyone that has helped and supported me.”

Congratulations lad, hopefully we’ll see you breaking into the first team soon. We could certainly do with some more options at the back!
