TEAM: Wenger Makes 4 Changes – Arsenal’s Line-Up To Play Man City

Arsenal get back to Premier League action this weekend and a crucial clash with Manchester City at the Emirates awaits on Saturday lunchtime. This is the team I’d like to see Arsene Wenger go with.

David Ospina is available after recovering from a thigh injury but I think it’s safe to say Szczesny will start between the sticks.

We’ve had some good news with Gibbs returning to the squad after missing the last four weeks with a hamstring strain so I’d like to see him replacing Monreal at left-back. The Spaniard has hardly put a foot wrong but Gibbsy offers us a lot more down the flank.

Koscielny is fit to play despite missing the France game last week with the head injury he picked up against Leicester so he should line-up alongside Mertesacker and Debuchy at the back.

The big fitness doubt is over Aaron Ramsey. The midfielder is facing a late test after twisting his ankle playing for Wales in midweek. Hopefully he’ll make it but if not then Jack can come in.

Mikel Arteta is in contention after recovering from his ankle injury so I’d bring him straight back in for Mathieu Flamini in midfield.

Arsene seems to be sticking to the 4-1-4-1 formation but I hope he ditches it and reverts back to the 4-2-3-1 and plays Mesut Ozil in his best position; in the No.10 role behind the striker.

I’d then pick The Ox to play down the left mainly for his pace and defensive attributes. Zabaleta is going to be a huge threat for City and I can see Oxlade-Chamberlain tracking back more than Cazorla or Podolski.

Alexis will start on the right flank and I’d certainly like to see the boss hand new signing Danny Welbeck his debut. He scored two excellent goals for England in midweek and he’s a big upgrade on Sanogo, so fingers crossed Arsene doesn’t try to be too clever here. Just start the lad.

Here’s my team:

This is a well balanced side and we’d have a strong bench consisting of the likes of Cazorla, Podolski, Ospina, Rosicky, Chambers and Flamini.

This is going to be a big test for us but hopefully we can come away with a positive result as the last thing we need is to lose to a title rival so early in the season.

If diaby is fit to play he should replace arteta against this tall and strong looking midfield of city.

I don’t think it’s wise to play Diaby in a game of this magnitude,Diaby has been in a sideline for almost the whole season,I doubt his form, meanwhile we need Rosicky to play in this game whether came as a substitute or starts but I have full confidence in Rosicky

I think Diaby has not yet regain his fitness so using him aganist Arteta is unwise. Wenger should concentrate on the player he has and give us victory pls.

you can not possibly line up arteta and jack against the City Midfielders. That is suicidal. Flamini has to play and give Diaby 20 min. Watched him today in the U21s..Football is a beautiful thing.

Take it from me MC will cede possession to Arsenal and hit on the break.Watch how the Blues scored the 3rd goal to kill off Pool.A long through ball was hit to Navas who then passes quickly to the striker.
The latter drifted in to score.
Arsenal won’t be able to score like that because in Wenger’s dna the ball must be passed around many times.By the time the gunners are in a position to shoot, the blues will come back in numbers to stifle the gunners.
That is why his record against the top teams is so poor. Of course it
may turn out Arsenal can win but me thinks unless Wenger speeds up the attack,it could be a draw. With Welbeck anything is possible.
Hopefully the gunners can catch the blues napping.

Bonaroca:- I agree with the cosen side with the exception of Arteta in this
particular match, I think that Chambers should replace Arteta as a MF defender to cover Debuchy & Mercks who from time to time seems slow to recover against quick counter attacks, it is not easy to contain the Manchester City left flaNK.

    Sanchez, Welbeck, Joel Campbell.

Monreal has had a great start to the season and should retain he’s place.Gibbs should have to fight to get back in.

We play better without the Ken doll Arteta who is awful, too slow, gives the ball away too much, not good enough for Arsenal, why he wasn’t sold is beyond me and le fraud wants to extend his contract

Please Wenger, let Chamba who young and have pace to replace Arteta, while Flamini start because Man-city will like to play hard ball. We should be fast on the ball, no more sluggish or dull moment in the game against our main rival this season.
