Arsenal To Make Stunning €40m Bid For World Class Hitman – Report

By on August 22, 2014

Some exciting reports coming out of France are claiming that Arsenal are set to make a stunning €40m bid for Paris Saint-Germain hitman Edinson Cavani and will throw Olivier Giroud into the deal as well.

We’ve been linked with Cavani on-and-off for some time and speculation back in January even suggested we had made a £30m bid for the striker, but it was rejected out of hand by PSG.

Arsene has never hidden his admiration of the Uruguayan international and talk of us renewing our interest intensified after Cavani admitted at the start of the summer that he was unhappy at having to play out wide in Laurent Blanc’s side.

French media outlet Sport.fr are now reporting that Arsenal are set to make a late push to lure the striker to the Emirates by offering PSG €40m (£32m) in cash plus Olivier Giroud in exchange for the 27-year-old’s signature.

The package is reportedly worth a total of £50m – which values Giroud at £18m – but it’s not clear how the offer will be received once it’s formally put on the table to the Ligue 1 champions.

Widespread reports have suggested PSG would be willing to cash in on Cavani in order to help raise funds for Angel Di Maria but things have been complicated by Zlatan Ibrahimovic picking up an injury last week.

The tempting thing about our proposal for PSG is that they’d get a striker in exchange who could cover for Zlatan while he’s injured, as well as a sizeable amount of money that they could put towards the purchase of Di Maria.

So while on the face of it this report may seem highly unlikely to amount to anything, you just never know. If PSG do REALLY want Di Maria, they could be willing to sacrifice an unsettled Cavani in order to land him and for all his faults, Giroud is still highly rated in France and would be a decent back-up for Ibrahimovic.

Perhaps I’m clutching at straws and getting carried away by the thought of Cavani in an Arsenal shirt as he really would totally transform our attack and make us genuine title challengers (as long as we also buy a defensive midfielder!), but we’re all allowed to dream aren’t we?!

L’Equipe said this rumour is not true and Cavani will stay at PSG. We should go for Reus because he is our best option at the moment and Ozil would be happy. I hope we also buy a defensive midfielder who can play at center back. Our team is good and only needs time too improve but with the current squad im afraid we will struggle against Everton because our midfield is always out of place. We try to attack but we lack in defense. Giroud has to improve a lot if he wants to be our first striker choice. At least he should try and make some effort. Really hope we can get 3 points tomorrow. We can´t be a big team against small teams and a small team against big teams. We are a big team and let´s show that. Go gunners!

Sanchez has introduced fast pattern of play in Arsenal, so is good to see Ox & Alexis on the pitch at thesame time since all of them are fast in terms of play.
And with their fast pattern, iam sure they will help the club (Arsenal) in getting positive results.

i am sick and tired of all these speculation over which players comes in and goes out….i mean the whole thing is boring to me….how can a big club as arsenal struggles to buy good players?, how can arsene wenger of his caliber struggles to point out players that can bring huge impact to the club success? i am from NIGERIA, and being a passionate arsenal fan, i demand to know the system arsenal is operating now….wenger is not a fan of spending much on a players i knew that, but arsenal have a big history, and yet we are struggling to buy one or two players……why i am deeply much consigned is that in NIGERIA here; i played BETTING as in 1960 & BETNAIJA.COM….letassume i want to bet on arsenal side, what can possibly motivate me to bet on arsenal in order for to win the bet?
we all know that arsene wenger has done well by buying the club OZIL, SANCHEZ, CHAMBERS, & COMBELL….`, but base on the squad i see in other clubs, i think they strengthens well…each position has 3players competing for a role and match play….while arsenal have only 2players competing for a role…
WENGER GO AND BUY STRIKER, DEFENDER, DENFENSIVE MIDFIELDER AS WELL PLEASE( CAVANI………..PAPALANOUS OF LEVAKUSEN,……KHEDIRA OR SNEIZ OF SOUTHMPT…..
