Calum Chambers Reveals New Arsenal Squad Number On Twitter
Arsenal completed the signing of Calum Chambers from Southampton earlier today for a fee believed to be in the region of £16m.
The 19-year-old signed a long-term contract after completing his medical on Friday and the club unveilled him as our latest new addition on Arsenal.com this afternoon.
Chambers won’t be a first team regular just yet as he’s expected to provide back-up to Mathieu Debuchy for the foreseeable future, but he’s also capable of playing in the middle of defence or even in central midfield if needed.
The teenager is currently en route to Austria with his new team mates for a four-day pre-season training camp but he’s found the time to reveal that he’s been handed the No.21 shirt for the coming season.
The lad seems hugely excited to have joined the club and hopefully his enthusiasm will be reflected in his performances, with the youngster set to make his debut this weekend against Benfica in the Emirates Cup
