Arsenal ‘Agree Fee & Personal Terms’ To Land Midfielder – Report

By on July 20, 2014

Arsenal are on the verge of signing Sami Khedira in a €30m deal after agreeing a four-year contract with the German international worth £140,000-a-week, according to reports.

After weeks of speculation suggesting we have been in talks with both Real Madrid and Khedira’s representatives, the Metro are carrying a report today that claims a€30m (£24m) fee has now been agreed with the European champions.

The newspaper goes on to state that we’ve been deep in negotiations with Khedira’s agents over the past three days and have now agreed terms over a four-year deal worth £140,000-a-week and the transfer is expected to be officially announced in the next 48 hours.

This report comes after Arsene Wenger refused to rule out a move for the 27-year-old midfielder. When quizzed about his interest in Khedira after yesterday’s 2-0 win over Boreham Wood, Wenger said:

‘I can’t give you any names,’ Wenger told reporters.

‘We are still active. Sometimes the players you want are available very late. You do the deals when they are possible.’

Kheidra has been widely tipped to leave Madrid this summer after turning down a contract extension offer, and with the player good friends with our German trio and the boss looking for a long-term replacement for Mikel Arteta, many have suggested he’s on his way to the Emirates.

However, while the Metro’s report seems hugely exciting on the face of it, on closer inspection it turns out the majority of their information has come from CaughtOffside.

That particular outlet has a very poor reputation when it comes to accurate transfer news, so sadly, I won’t be getting my hopes up of seeing Khedira unveilled at the Emirates any time soon if we’re basing it solely on CaughtOffside’s ‘sources’.

That’s not to say a deal won’t get done, as there are plenty of more reputable newspapers and outlets confirming our interest in Khedira, so there’s still every chance we might sign the German this summer, but I’ll be taking the Metro and CaughtOffside’s report with a large pinch of salt for now.

i thought there was a shred of credibility when i saw that the metro was reporting it but now i’ve seen it’s from caught offside then i might as well wipe my virtual arse with it. indeed, caughtoffside is now reporting that balotelli is a done deal at 15.8m.

khedira’s deal will be a perfect one. Arteta is now old & may not manage a speedy attacking club like Liverpool and Tottenham. We are ready to welcome you to the second German home “Arsenal”.

With khedira, Balloteli, Sanchez, Ozil, Walcot, Debuchy etc, the premier league will be interesting next season. The Arsenal fans will not chew their fingers again as they will be watching Arsenal games with ease. So the prof. We look forward to more quality signing and pronto.

Sami and super Mario will be solid additions to Arsenal if their deals pull through. They would have won the league last season if they had these qualities. Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope that Arsene completes the deal. Another central defender is still imminent.

Bonaroca:: There is doubt Khedira will be a very good signing, hopefully he will not be plagued with injuries during the season.

Arsenal definitely, need to sign a goalkeeper, The one Mr Wenger is pursuing is very good. What worries me is that we are short of a central defender.

As I said time and time again if players are guaranteed to play a maximum of 30/35 games per season out of a possible 65 competitive games in a season with the squad Mr Wenger has at his disposal, he would be less fraught with injuries and loss of form which happens mostly during the middle of the season.

Good planning and the players arsenal have should at least challenging in most competitive games.

We need more big names in a special in defense if we to sell vamelin to utd no problem with dat is to get represent like carivho from Lisbon is good and one goal keeper

spending so much on kedira might not be the answer. I believe there are younger and experienced players who can take that stage. Bender plus schneiderlin wont be a bad idea. All arsenal needs is to have enough players @ different positions to avoid injury issues. All the same kudos to wenger and the management of Arsenal fc so far. Balo is equally a quality player no doubt. If Arsenal pulls this off, then it’s on a mission to success.

Bonaroca:- I don’t like the idea of having balo. He is to indisciplined and the last thing Arsenal need is a player who on his day could irritate his colleagues.

Arsenal will except an off form player or jaded player but a moody one
!!!!!!. Is it worth spending millions for some extra goals when there are quite a few players wo could do that job. And what about CAMBELL???

      July 20, 2014 at 3:46 pm

And wenger can manage ballo he has done it before to nasri and RVP so I think he should be able to manage him, I will have love bender or schneiderlin than khedira

I watched khedira against Brazil he was absolutely fantastic.but it is a bit tricky what type of defensive midfielder do we want?the physical energetic type or the creative type like bosquet of barca,it seems Wenger prefer the latter of which khedira belong

I’m a massive goober but I’m no fan of balos that’s for lazy sulky gets sent off a lot how does that help us not like he’s going to change those habits every club he plays for he’s let down badly

I realy cant understand why ARSENAL are involved in those massive transfers for foreing players, when we have a wealth of talent coming through, like ,what will happen to jack, alex, gnabry, einsfeld, and even yesterday a saw for the first time alson, hayden and his partner( sorry ) forgot his name),i am 100% convinced that if given playing time this season we have someone who we can turn to if there any injuries to per or kosh.so please ( and this goes to our fans ) stop bom, barding the board to buy, buy, buy.

… I dont know if people dont read the article before commenting… This is just a rumour… Khedira have not signed… The same goes with Baloteli… The writer wrote that Metro carried the news from Caughtoffside… He also wrote that cauthoffside are not reliable when it comes to transfers.. Which mean there is no truth in Khedira signing…..
