PHOTO: Arsenal Confirm Mathieu Debuchy Shirt Number After £12m Move

Arsenal wrapped up their second signing of the summer earlier this evening after confirming Mathieu Debuchy has joined the club from Newcastle United.

The 28-year-old has signed a long-term contract and although neither club have announced the exact fee, it’s widely reported to be in the region of £12m.

Debuchy will be a direct replacement for Bacary Sagna following his free transfer move to Manchester City last month and now we’ve confirmed what squad number he’ll be wearing next year.

Thankfully, the French international has been handed the No.2 shirt – formerly worn by Abou Diaby – meaning our first choice full backs will be wearing No.2 and No.3 after Kieran Gibbs made the switch following Sagna’s exit.

    Debucy is aperfect signing for us gunners, i think khedira is next followed by ospina & remmy.

    Welcome 2 Arsenal Deburchy…Gr8 signing 4rm Wenger. I dnt think we nid khedira bcoz he is an injury prone player. I prefer Las Bendar or Morgan Schneiderin

    i also want khedira, remy, and ospina! i can dream on! thr fact is it has been the best transfer window in a while for us gunners(exept ozil last summer) fingers crossed! Imo ospina first maybe remy(he looks liverpool bound tho) khedira will drag on i believe he will choose us over skanky blues when he realises real dont want him we need him

    The build up continues strongly but slowly. Wenger should consider bringing a top drawer striker and a second goal tender to the club. He should save Giroud from tongue exposure when in a show of disgust, he drops to the floor mourning his misses. I think the fans are tired of all that. Wenger should get Balloteli and tame him. At 14 million pounds, he is cheap.

    Good signing! we’ve not entered August yet wenger has sealed two quality signings.
    I believe the khedira deal is off all signs show it, but if we get schneiderlin,Ospina & Manquillo i don’t think i’ll complain even though i’m sure wenger will still bring in a striker too but the Question is whom?
    Not Remy! All signs show it again but lets wait it’s an exiting transfer period ahead.

    what a great signing to my best coach ever, but i suggest wenger should accept song back or even go for mikel from chelsea dat would be great in our dm den add di maria and baloteli or samuel eto its okay we need exprienced players nw but huge tanks to our manager wenger for his strong signing dis summer!!! Pls add more qualities to team.

    Yes!yes!yes boss.my wenger is only d reward of God that will strengten u d more for keeping my dearly club arsenal d best not only in english football,but world ward.I say thank u boss;pls add Dm,a quality striker in suaraz type of player & good goalkeeper like jens lahman our great formal keeper to d team.I think dis season with much competition among d players,we are all but going for three trouphy.
