Debuchy’s Move To Arsenal ‘Completed’, Presentation Due On Monday
Mathieu Debuchy’s long-awaited move to Arsenal has now been ‘completed’ and the defender will be officially presented as an Arsenal player on Monday, according to north east local newspaper The Chronicle.
We’ve been waiting all week for an announcement to be made over the signing of the France international after news broke last weekend that Debuchy was set for a move to the Emirates.
The 28-year-old removed ‘Newcastle player’ from his Twitter profile, he confirmed to French journalists that he was joining Arsenal and reports claimed he passed a medical and agreed personal terms on Monday.
There has even been the suggestion the right-back has already had posed for photos in an Arsenal shirt, but still we wait for the deal to be announced.
Well it looks like the wait is almost over as local Newcastle newspaper The Chronicle claim that the move has now been ‘completed’. In fact, they suggest the a £10m deal has been agreed for almost two weeks but Alan Pardew’s side have been delaying the sale in order to wrap up the signing of Remy Cabella.
A deal to take the Montpellier man to St James’ Park is expected to be completed this weekend and the Chronicle state that Debuchy will be officially presented as an Arsenal player on Monday.
Let’s hope this turns out to be the case so we can get that deal wrapped up and move on to strengthening other areas of the squad, namely a defensive midfielder and a back-up goalkeeper.
