Wenger Planning To Wrap Up €19m Or €37m Deal After World Cup
According to reports today, Arsene Wenger has lined-up a €19m move for Mario Mandzukic in-case our bid to sign Mario Balotelli falls through.
We’ve been strongly linked with Balotelli in recent weeks with speculation claiming the boss has made the AC Milan striker his No.1 target this summer as he looks to bring in some competition for Olivier Giroud.
There has been talk of a €37m (£30m) deal being close and reports yesterday even suggested we had drawn up a contract offer worth over £9m per season.
However, it appears Arsene has a fall-back option should the deal for Balotelli collapse, with the Express reporting today that the boss has lined-up a €19m (£15m) move for Croatian hitman Mario Mandzukic.
Wenger was working for French TV last night and was in the stands during Croatia’s 4-0 win over Cameroon, so he witnessed Mandzukic score two goals during an impressive nights work.
The 28-year-old is set to leave Bayern Munich this summer after a fall-out with Pep Guardiola and he’s been linked with a number of top European clubs.
The newspaper claims that Arsene intends to wrap up a deal for either Balotelli or Mandzukic once the World Cup is over, but the Italians remains his priority.
I’m sure like many Gunners fans, I’d prefer to see Balotelli arrive than Mandzukic, but the deal for the Italian is likely to be far more difficult to push through. AC Milan are trying to get the best possible price for the striker to help ease their financial problems, so it looks like we’re going to have to pay big money to land him.
Is Arsene prepared to spend what it takes to sign the ex-Man City striker? I’m not convinced, and that reluctance could see Mandzukic end up at the Emirates….

the prices say it all,we need wenger to spend big,but not stuid big we dont need to pay for a psyco, balotelli comes with two much baggage, keep campbell even if it dosnt work for him we can still sell on,he will have plenty of offers, but balitelli he wants 180k is that for the shrink who will have to come with him,we dont need babys throwing there rattle out of the pram, leave alone!get mandzukich instead.
