Xavi To Make Shock Arsenal Move?

Arsenal are one of several Premier League clubs to have been offered the opportunity to sign Barcelona legend Xavi, according to reports.

Xavi has spent his entire career at the Nou Camp and has gone on to make over 700 appearances since making his debut for the club way back in 1998.

The 34-year-old has won everything available to him. 7 La Liga’s, 3 Champions League’s, the World Cup and the Euro’s with Spain…. you name it, he’s won it, but reports suggest his time at the Nou Camp could be coming to an end this summer.

The Daily Star claim that Xavi is set to be be sacrificed as part of a major squad overhaul at Barcelona this summer and his agents have already been touting the playmaker to Premier League clubs.

Arsenal are one of the teams who are understood to have shown an interest, with Xavi believed to be an ‘admirer’ of our fine club, but Manchester City and Manchester United are also on his case.

Barca haven’t had the best of seasons, but they will still end up winning La Liga if they beat Atletico Madrid in next weekend’s title-decider. However, the Catalans are expected to make big changes this summer irrespective on Sunday’s result, and it seems Xavi could be on the market.

If he does leave the Nou Camp, the Spanish international wants one last crack at the big time before potentially ending his career in the US, and a move to England is sure to appeal to the player.

Obviously he’d be a major coup if we could land him, as he’s still one of the best in the world, and he should fit easily into our style of play. He wouldn’t exactly be the type of signing we necessarily need, but you just can’t say no when a player like Xavi comes on the market.
