PHOTO: Wenger Responds To Move Reports After Remy Snapped At Emirates

By on May 5, 2014

There was an interesting spectator in the crowd at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon as Loic Remy was spotted watching on as we beat West Brom 1-0.

Obviously this caused quite a stir on social media sites with fans speculating what the on-loan Newcastle United striker was doing watching Arsenal.

Remy is expected to be sold by QPR this summer and Arsenal are one of a number of clubs linked with a move for the £10m-rated striker, and with Arsene Wenger expected to sign another front-man at the end of the season, the rumour mill went into overdrive when pictures of the player sitting in the crowd at the Emirates yesterday emerged online.

However, Arsene was quizzed about Remy after the game but the boss insists he did not invite the French international to watch the game and claims we shouldn’t be looking too much into it. He told Arsenal.com:

on Loic Remy being at the game…

Honestly I have just been informed that Loic Remy was here, I didn’t know. So don’t see any sign of us signing Loic Remy in that. I hope he has paid for his ticket! No [I didn’t invite him], that’s why i tell you I have not invited him.

Obviously people are going to speculate when a linked player attends a game, but the likelihood is Remy was probably just invited along by one of his French team-mates.

I’d actually be happy to see him join the club this summer as he’d be a useful player to have in the squad. He’s proven he can score goals in the Premier League, would bring some much-needed pace to the team and should be available at a reasonable price.

However, I wouldn’t be looking too much into the fact he attended the match yesterday.

I don’t mind us signing Remy,at least he makes run behind defenders and am sure Ozil would love that, unlike the stationary “20 goals ” striker we’ve got who constantly makes Ozil look crap with his poor intelligence and movement on the pitch
