Arsenal ‘Confident’ Of Landing La Liga Striker With £10m Offer

By on May 3, 2014

Arsenal are confident they can sign Alvaro Morata this summer and will tempt Real Madrid with a £10m bid at the end of the season, according to reports today.

Morata was strongly linked with a move to us last summer and again in January when we were believed to have come close to securing a six-month loan deal before Carlo Ancelotti pulled the plug.

Morata is highly-rated at the Bernabeu and the Spanish giants are lining up a new contract with his current deal set to expire in 2015, but the player is believed to be reluctant to commit his future unless he’s given assurances he’ll be more involved in the coming years.

The Spanish under-21 international has made just 19 league appearances this season, and many of those have come from the subs bench with Karim Benzema and youngster Jesse ahead of him in the pecking order, so he’s likely to look for a move away from the club unless he’s guaranteed more game time.

With just one year remaining on his contract, his value is dropping and this could be the last chance Madrid have to sell him for a decent fee or risk losing him for nothing.

Arsene Wenger has continued to keep an eye on the 21-year-old during the second half of the season and the Express claim we will make another attempt to bring him to the Emirates this summer.

A £10m offer is set to be tabled at the end of the season and the club are understood to be ‘confident’ they can finally get their man, despite interest from the likes of Inter Milan.

I’m a huge fan of Morata’s and think he’d be a great signing, especially if we can pick him up for just £10m. Whether he’s ready to be a first team regular at Arsenal just yet remains to be seen, but at least he’ll offer some real competition to Olivier Giroud.

Morata will make a gud challenge for Olivier Giroud, but Arsenal need Benzema to make the upfront balance.

To challenge for major honours we need a fast mobile striker in the Suarez/Aguero mould. From what I’ve seen of Morata this season he’s nowhere near that level. Mandzukic and Costa are closer but still some way short.

I wouldn’t trust this manager to sign anyone of note, what we need is a new manager with ambition who actually understands the modern game.

There is no truth to see about Wenger because he has been at Arsenal for nearly two decades now. What more can we learn that we don’t already know. To sum it up Wenger is a manager who won three Premier League trophies between 1998 and 2004. He also won four FA cups between 1998 and 2005. He also won the Community shield I think on five occasions. Furthermore, he successfully built the Emirates stadium which is the best stadium in England. He has also kept Arsenal in the Champions league for the last sixteen consecutive seasons, the only English club to attain such a feat during the same period. He has done this on a very meagre budget which not many,if any, managers could have achieved. He has introduced an attractive brand of football which has become the hall of Arsenal football club and is admired worldwide. Arsenal is now in the final of the FA cup and from here we only expect to improve next season and the coming seasons. So the writer is just saying nothing!

Could we please all get sensible about Morata. He is very young and gets very little playing time. When he does he looks pretty ordinary. We have surely had enough of signing youngsters with potential and now we must sign top quality experienced players.

Morata is very good player, and he can fit into Arsenal play without any problem. He is still young and he want to play week in and week out. Arsene Wenger should go for the young talented player before its too late, and he will be an asset to Arsenal. Arsene Wenger should not go for good names. The other player Wenger need to go for is Bony of Swanse, he is the kind of a player who can fit into Arsenal play very quickly and he can make miracle for Arsenal.
