TWEETS: Ozil, Rambo, Mertesacker + Podolski React To Newcastle Win
Arsenal eased to a 3-0 win over Newcastle United on Monday night to move four points clear in fourth place.
Goals from Laurent Koscielny, Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud were enough to seal our third win in succession and we’ll make sure it’s our 17th consecutive season in the Champions League if we beat West Brom on Sunday.
Mesut Ozil inspired the victory with a superb all-round display and the German was one of several players to react to the win on Twitter. The playmaker seemed to acknowledge that he’d played well after saying his ‘shoes’ – meaning his football boots – were ‘something special’ having worn his new boots for the first time last night.
Lukas Podolski wound up Tottenham fans by wishing everybody a ‘Happy St Totteringham’s Day’ – the day in the season where Tottenham can no longer finish above Arsenal in the league – while Aaron Ramsey called it a ‘solid win’.
Per Mertesacker also had his say, stating that we’ve taken another step towards the top four but must focus on our remaining games while youngster Yaya Sanogo seemed happy with the win and said it was good preparation for the FA Cup final.
These shoes are something special.
