PHOTOS: Relive Arsenal Winning The Title At Spurs 10 Years Ago Today
It was a day all Arsenal fans will never forget. 10 years ago today on the 25th April 2004, Arsene Wenger’s invincibles clinched the Premier League title with a 2-2 draw against Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
If winning the Premier League isn’t special enough, we got to celebrate doing it at the home of our bitter rivals. Not many football supporters or players will ever get that feeling in their lifetime, so it’s certainly a day worth remembering and celebrating over and over again.
To make the season even more special, Arsenal went on to see out the remainder of the campaign unbeaten ensuring they went down in history as the first side to win the Premier League without losing a game.
Even the much heralded Manchester United sides under Sir Alex Ferguson never managed such a feat, while Chelsea and Manchester City with their billions of pounds worth of investment haven’t managed to repeat it either.
One player who was certainly buzzing 10 years ago was Sol Campbell. He left Spurs and joined Arsenal to win trophies, but even he couldn’t have imagined he’d have been given the opportunity to celebrate his second title at the home of his former team. It really did rub salt into the wounds of those Spurs fans.
Here are some photos of that special day, and remember just how lucky you are to have been part of this….hopefully these days aren’t too far away again.
