Arsenal ‘In Talks’ With Spanish Giants Over Double Swoop

By on April 17, 2014

The Mirror are reporting that Arsenal have made contact with Real Madrid over the availability of midfielder Casemiro and are also renewing their interest in striker Alvaro Morata.

Casemiro is a powerful midfielder who moved to the Bernabeu from boyhood club Sao Paulo on an initial six-month loan deal in January 2013 before Madrid paid £5m to make the move permanent last summer.

His first team opportunities have been limited this season though as he’s been restricted to just 3 starts, and it seems Arsene Wenger is now ready to offer him a fresh start in north London.

The Mirror claim we’ve had the Brazilian international scouted this season and have now opened talks with the Spanish giants over the 22-year-old’s availability, but it’s not clear whether boss Carlo Ancelotti is going to be willing to let him leave just yet.

An athletic midfielder is certainly needed this summer and while my preferred option would be someone like Lars Bender, I wouldn’t say no to a Brazilian who did enough to earn a move to Real Madrid.

The newspaper also claims we’re making another attempt to try and sign striker Alvaro Morata after failing to persuade Madrid to let him leave on loan in January. We’re apparently looking for a permanent switch this time around but we may have to fork-out over £12m to get our man.

I think it’s clear we need to bring in at least one striker this summer, preferably two with Bendtner leaving, and Morata would be an excellent addition if we could also sign a more established name as well.

Who would you like to see Arsenal sign this summer?

We don’t need these two guys. We need an accomplished striker. Who scores more than 30 goals a season. Besides Real Madrid will place a buy back clause in Moratas contract. The hell,we don’t want that. Forget it. These two r talented but are unfinished products. We need established players.

We need that sort of striker. We hd the henrys van persies adebayors. Nw we don’t hve a guy who can hit 20 premier league guys. To be honest only podolski has the capability to score. We can’t survive on him alone. What the heck do u wanna do with a 100 million pound warchest. We hve money. Spend 30-40 million on a top class striker. Or buy a top class winger at least to help podolski.

Giroud has scored 20 goals this season but he could of scored at least 5 more, due to the chances he’s missed. Arsenal need a better striker than Giroud to help him next season, along with the addition of Joel Campbell who should be back from loan. Padolski and Walcott will also help Arsenal on the attacking front but this young midfielder from madrid, I’m not sure about that.

Please Wenger, spend this £100m on players and stop pinching it, we need a proven world class striker and not an apprentice type who is coming to learn his trade at Emirate. Thank u.

wenger you had made arsenal be strong europe but since the last fa cap glory you have been making fearful, lack of concentration, licky defence, goal shy attackers now a days like groud, easily lossable with bad records with big team ,average and incompitant team not only in europe but in EPL aswell. So you should to change your bad philosophy if you care for the club and fan.

guys don’t forget we have theo back next year … he’s easy a 20 goal man plus assists

we need a good RB if sagna leaves,
a powerful DM like we have done for the past 8 years!!
and maybe micah richards as a back up cb/defender ( plus he’s a gunner)

also 1 world class striker,( we don’t need another up and comer. We need someone who can take on players on his own,and most importantly can put the ball in the back of the net, don’t care what name he has on his back as long as he can do that and do it well).

Campbell should stay this season and play out on the right when we need to rest theo, and we’re have our attacking bad ass arsenal back. we may even get to play a normal 4 4 2 from time to time, and for once we would have enough players to finish a year without worry

Next session, I don’t think any right thinking Arsenal fan will be having patient for learning curve. We want the club to hit the ground running as the transfer window opens. We don’t want to hear that “the money is available but we have not seen the right player to buy, more so the recovery injured players are like new signing” we are tired of excuses, enough is enough.
