Revealed: 3 Of Wenger’s Top Summer Targets, Talks Already Underway

By on April 15, 2014

Arsene Wenger has dropped another huge hint that he’ll be staying on as Arsenal manager after admitting the club are already working hard everyday trying to strengthen the squad ahead of next season.

The Frenchman’s contract expires in June and there have been rumours he could be ready to call-time on his 18-year stay in North London after a disappointing few weeks that have seen us go from league leaders to fifth spot.

However, the boss was quoted at his press conference on Monday as saying:

‘We do spend time on next season, we are really focused and working very hard,’

‘Every day we spend time on that [transfers].’

I still feel as long as we finish fourth and win the FA Cup, Arsene will sign his new deal, but failure to achieve either of those targets could see him walk (or be forced out).

Either way, it seems he’s already working on new recruits and the Daily Mail claim three of his top targets remain Alvaro Morata, Julian Draxler and Lars Bender.

We have been strongly linked with all three over the past two transfer windows and it appears we’re not going to make the same mistakes we made last year and plan to get our business done early.

The newspaper states that we’ve already opened talks with Real Madrid and Schalke over the potential signing of Morata and Draxler, while Bender and a new central defender remain priorities.

No further details are given on how the talks are progressing but it’s good to hear the club is being proactive and getting the ball rolling on transfer early. Last summer and January were disasters in the transfer market for Arsenal and we simply can not afford a repeat this year.

All three of the players mentioned by the Daily Mail would be excellent signings. They are young, experienced, hugely talented and fill positions that badly need strengthened.

If we could manage to land Morata, Draxler and Bender, and add the squad players we will also need, then we’ll have a far more balanced group heading into next season.

Everytime u say this. U r working hard not to spend money ??????

Whatever Wenger, you can leave the club after this FA cup whether u take this or not.

This season u proved you can not lead this team anywhere. Only one team can come to 5th (May be more worst) after staying 1st position for 5 months. When we need really a push to win the league you signed a injured player on January. This only proved u don’t want to win anything and u don’t have winning mentality.

Enough is enough you can leave whatever happens and save Arsenal. We need a fresh blood with clear winning mentality to lead this club.

I don’t just understand all the arsenal fans in London. What the hell are they waiting for that they can revolt agaist this so called board ang all of them fire along with Wenger because Arsene is already outdated in modern day football. He can never win anything with old method of his except he went for a refreshing coaching course.

If the gooners win all their matches and everton lose then it’ll be down to maths not god. Now if a plague of locusts swarm down and attack the everton keeper just as a free kick heads towards him, then ill admit there may be some god involvement.

Arsenal fans were & still at fault for believing in Wenger. He’s been in the club since 1996 & if you check the years he spent trophyless & the years he spent winning trophies, he’s still an under-achiever as a coach. This is a man who paraded the invicibles to glory, but look at the team he has now as Arsenal, from to bad & from bad to worse. Is he not dumb to have GIROUD, BENTDER & SONOGO as strikers expecting to win big matches? None of them can simply make attempt on target let alone score. Can’t you see the Liverpool trio,The damages they’re inflicting on defences? Wenger is worse!the moment he signed Kalstrom in the final transfer day,I knew he’s failed. Arsenal have been finding it hard to score goals in 1st half & by a striker for that matter, he lost Walcott & Ramsey before the transfer yet he refused to sign any1 but the injury stricken Kalstrom on LOAN. The only solution is when Wenger quits or if an Arab tycoon happens to buy the club, that’s when Arsenal will restore it’s dignity & fear factor.

Thanx man, you sound nice always and every thing seems possible but at the end of the day you may miss heart attack narrowly because to Arsene possibility is always impossibility and words can build a railway line in space in micro seconds than an action, any way we will continue reading all what you bring……. good job

Arsenal was sold and we’re still sinking you moron. There is no ambition in the club. The manager is either incapable or just to weak to stand up to the owner and the owner only wants money and nothing else.
