Arsenal To Fight For £15m Ace – The Perfect Arteta Replacement?
Arsenal will have to fend off competition from Manchester United for the signature of Morgan Schneiderlin this summer, according to reports.
The midfielder has been in excellent form for Southampton over the past two seasons since they gained promotion back to the Premier League, as he’s forged a reputation as one of the most complete defensive midfielders in England.
His impressive form has seen him linked with Arsenal in recent weeks, with widespread reports claiming he’s among Arsene Wenger’s top targets this summer as he looks to bring in a long-term replacement for Mikel Arteta.
However, the Mirror suggest that we’ll now have to compete with United for his signature, with David Moyes also eyeing the Frenchman as a summer recruit as he looks to undertake a huge rebuilding job at Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old is understood to be valued at around £15m by Southampton, and they are bracing themselves for big-money bids for several of their star players, with Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw also attracting attention from the league’s ‘big-boys’.
I think it’s become evident in recent weeks that Arteta’s days are numbered and personally, I’d be pleased to see us sign either Lars Bender or Scheiderlin this summer, as both would add a whole new dimension to our midfield.
Who would you like Arsenal to sign this summer?
