Theo Walcott Provides Injury Update
Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has been speaking about his rehabilitation from his cruciate ligament injury and says he’s hoping to be back in time to play some part of pre-season.
The 25-year-old saw his season cruelly ended in early January when he damaged his knee during the closing stages of our FA Cup win over Tottenham at the Emirates.
He was immediately ruled out for at least six months which not only meant he’d miss the rest of our season, but he’d also miss this summers World Cup in Brazil.
Walcott was speaking on Sky Sports ‘Goals on Sunday’ today and claims things are progressing well but admitted it’s going to be a long road to recovery. When pressed for a possible comeback date, Theo refused to put a time-scale on it but says he hopes to be back to take part in pre-season.
“It’s coming along well.
“It’s a long, tedious treatment. I’m not looking to put months on it and I’ll keep working week by week.

Many point to Ramsey’s injury as our turning point this season and although we’ve certainly missed the Welshman, I think Walcott has been the biggest miss.
We’ve sorely missed his pace and goal threat in the attacking third during the second half of the season and I dare say we might still be challenging for the title had he stayed fit. That’s how important he is to our play.
Hopefully his recovery can continue to progress well over the coming months and he can get himself back fit for the start of next season.
