Wenger To Start £100m Spree With £15m Move For Schneiderlin
According to reports today, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will have ‘at least’ £100m to spend this summer and is ready to spend £15m of his kitty on bringing in Morgan Schneiderlin.
The Frenchman has been superb at the heart of Southampton’s midfield over the past 18 months so it’s no surprise that he’s attracting interest from some of the ‘big boys’.
We were linked with him in the summer and reports suggest we had a £12m bid turned down on deadline day but it appears the boss is ready to renew his interest at the end of the season.
The The Sun claims that Wenger has identified Schneiderlin as the perfect long-term replacement for Mikel Arteta and is ready to test the Saints resolve with a £15m bid.
Arteta is approaching his 32nd birthday and although he’s been a key player for us since joining from Everton in 2011 and is still performing well for us this season, few could deny that he’s beginning to look like his legs are gone. He was never the quickest to start with but as he’s getting older his lack of pace is being more and more exposed, particularly in the games against the top teams.
So I would welcome the addition of an athletic ball-winner this summer and Schneiderlin would be a great signing. He’s got plenty of Premier League experience now and 24, he’s approaching the peak years of his career.
Whether £15m would be enough to persuade Southampton to sell remains to be seen though, but I think we may have to dig a little deeper if we want to get our hands on him.
Do you think Schneiderlin would be a good signing?

If he’s going to buy Soton players, Lallana would be a better bet.
But of course this is newspaper bollocks.

whether Schneiderlin or not , Arsene should get. in new faces to spark some level of competition among the players.

You can double that if you want him, cos it’ll cost us that to replace him. As for Lallana he’s a one man club…. dream on

I hear Southampton are looking to bolster their squad and have been looking at a few young Arsenal players. Southampton will be adopting the Wenger style of transfer bidding, so expect to see bids going in at £6m for Wilshire and £2m for Gnabry.

schnederlin would be perfect replacement for arteta… Wenger should spend big this summer because the team lack senior competition between players.
