Arsenal Handed HUGE Injury Boost Ahead Of Bayern Munich Clash

Arsenal take on Bayern Munich at the Emirates in the last 16 of the Champions League on the 19th of February and it looks like we’ve been handed a huge injury boost ahead of the game.

Reports this afternoon have confirmed that winger Frank Ribery has been forced to go under the knife to cure a burst blood vessel in his buttock, and is now a major doubt to make the trip to London.

The 30-year-old will now stay in a clinic in Munich over the weekend to recover which will see him miss the European champions clash with Nuremburg and he faces a race against time to be fit in time to face us.

Manager Pep Guardiola remains hopeful Ribery might make it:

“Hopefully, he can play in London,” he said.

“Franck is important, I hope he can train as soon as possible and we are waiting on him.”

However, the game at the Emirates is only 12 days away and while a buttock injury may not sound that serious, it will severely impede his running if it’s doesn’t completely clear up in time.

Even if he does end up making the game, he’s not likely to be 100% match fit which can only be a good thing for us. Let’s face it, we’re going to need all the help we can get and Bayern not having a fully-fit Ribery is going to be a big boost for us.
