Photo: Arsenal’s New Signing – Squad Number Confirmed
In the end it was a hugely disappointing transfer window as the only new addition we managed was the loan signing of Swedish veteran Kim Kallstrom.
The 31-year-old has joined from Spartak Moscow until the end of the season and will provide us with an experienced back-up option in midfield. Arsene Wenger decided to make the move for the former Lyon midfielder after Aaron Ramsey was ruled out for up to six weeks with a thigh injury.
Kallstrom certainly isn’t the big-money signing most fans were hoping for but he’s a respected international who’s racked up over 100 caps for Sweden, so he might turn out to be a useful addition – particularly when you consider how light we are in the centre of the park at present. Plus, he’s eligible to play in the Champions League.
It’s now been confirmed that the Swede will wear the No.29 jersey – which happens to be Marouane Chamakh’s old number. Let’s hope he turns out to be more of a success than the previous owner.
We can now reveal the number Kim #Kallstrom will wear for Arsenal. #WelcomeKim #DeadlineDay pic.twitter.com/QveDvf0vv6

Wenger is not that good you know folks. Let’s just start getting to grips with this fact. He’s more of a financier than a football manager. This team is crying out for reinforcements over the run-in but what does he do; get us a 31 yr old (quite contrary to his ethos) that will probably not come on the pitch throughout the duration of his loan time here. Just ask Emilio the GK he brought on loan in the summer. We are almost a sniffing distance of our first trophy for years and this manager seems not interested! £24.00M 3year contract for making the Arsenal Board money and the fans trophy-less; no thanks!!!!!

A sense of perspective is needed boys. Apart from Mata which big names moved anywhere in Europe. The players that we already have have done fantastically well throughout the calendar year 2013 and really do have the togetherness as a squad to pull something off. There is actually a pro Arsenal! article in the mail online by Mathew Morlidge today which explains Arsenes’ motives very well. Let’s all support the boys and enjoy the ride!

So great to find another person with a few unique thoughts on this subject
matter. Really.. thank you for starting this up. This site is one
