Arsenal On Verge Of Sealing €45m Draxler Deal – Report

By on January 23, 2014

Some interesting news coming out of Italy this evening with reports claiming that Arsenal are on the verge of agreeing a €45m deal with Schalke for Julian Draxler.

TuttoMercatoWeb are running an ‘exclusive’ suggesting that a deal is all-but agreed with Arsene Wenger giving the go-ahead to trigger the 20-year-old’s €45m (£37m) release clause.

Schalke apparently turned down our offer to include Lukas Podolski as part exchange but TMW claims that representatives from Arsenal will thrash out the finer details of the deal in Germany on Friday with Draxler on stand-by to fly to London as soon as he’s given permission.

This news comes after several British newspapers reported on Thursday morning that a delegation from Arsenal flew out to Germany to hold formal talks with Shalke, so there could actually be some foundation to this.

If this report from Italy is to be believed, it appears we’ve found a breakthrough in the talks and we could actually be close to signing Draxler.

However, as exciting as this news is, I’d take it with a pinch of salt until we hear something more concrete. I’m not sure how reliable TuttoMercatoWeb is and it’s not worth us getting our hopes up just yet.

I’m sure there will be more news on this potential deal, so I’ll bring you the latest when I hear it.

Come on Arsene, let’s get this deal done!!

@ Edgar Amutamwa He’s currently nursing ankle tendon injury. He’ll be fit for the remaining EPL matches, if he isn’t loaned back to Schalke as I previously read, in April.

He is an exciting young talent but most of you guys act like you became arsenal fans yesterday and you can’t realize wenger will never spend 37M on a 20 year old during middle of the season. Probably after the season is over or after the WC when is price will be hyped or reduced like M’vila . I’m up for the fact that we need. Clinical striker but trying to convert a mid fielder/winger in the middle of the season after paying a huge sum is actually foolish but good on the long run. Don’t get me wrong we need signings but we re only looking as spectators and are judging s we see fit t the end of the day power lies in the hand of the one who signed the ‘KING’.

Quite well said and concurs with my belief. Wenger will only spend that kind of money on a proven world class player. Plus, Nik B is back so it’s all less likely that he’ll panic to buy someone at that kind of price.

If 37 million pounds spended this time for him arsenal will pick trophies and sell him back 80 or 100million pounds.

I would like to see him in our club, but it is risky to pay that much money fo 20 years old player.

please wenger, do some thing this time round. we are far from claiming that we are the premier league cup contender with Olivier Giroud as our only hope. make us proud this time round, splush money and get us the 20yrs old Germany guy.

Hi guys! U think Wanger is serious about buying a striker? It may be a day dreaming( Na soso lie He de talk) He bot Orzil When He saw an apparent fans rebellion coming. We ar still not in a comfortable position even zo we ar the top of the EPL table.

Hopefully the news is true. Arsenal have a very good chance of winning the epl despite what the red face said. The rf said Mu can still retain the title. If Moyes can pull it off it will be greater than the Munch miracle. This is nothing but a pr lesson in utility.
Arsenal have won 6 matches including the Coventry win. Me thinks sooner or later they will get a draw or be beaten before facing Mata . That will, hopefully, start the beginning of another winning run.

Arsenal have finally shown they can compete for top talent.
The gunners are on the verge of winning the epl though MC are favourites.Sometimes a team needs another guy to propel them
    like RVP.
The rf has been called the greatest manager. He had been using money to buy his trophy haul and to a certain extent the Fa and the refs have connived in this..Mc have shown they are willing to spend. Well all good things must come to an end.
I would get immense satisfaction the red face less side fail to get the cl slot.
As for Arsenal, the title is within reach but you never know. The refs and FA could derail the gunners.

A fascinating discussion is definitely worth comment.
There’s no doubt that that you need to publish more about this issue, it may not be a taboo matter but typically people do not discuss such subjects.

    To the next! Kind regards!!
