Confirmed: Walcott Escapes Further Action For Mocking Spurs Fans
Arsenal attacker Theo Walcott has escaped any further action for gesturing to the Tottenham away support during our 2-0 win at the Emirates on Saturday.
Theo responded to abuse from the Spuds fans – which included objects being thrown at him – as he was being stretchered from the field by using his hands to remind them what the score was (2-0).
If they weren’t already incensed enough, presumably due to how easily their team was being beaten by their great rivals, the Spurs fans anger intensified even further following Theo’s actions and they hurled even more abuse and coins at him as he sat defenseless on a stretcher.
Despite a media driven agenda to try and get Walcott slapped with a ban, thankfully the FA have seen sense to let him off with nothing more than a slap on the wrists by reminding him of his duties as a footballer.
The FA have however, contacted both Arsenal and Tottenham to ask for their views on objects being thrown from the crowd – from both the home and away sections – with the threat of imposing a lifetime ban and anyone found guilty.
Now, about that Bentaleb stamp?
