Wilshere Reveals On Twitter Why He Gave Man City Fans The Finger
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has revealed that it was abuse about his children that led to him making a rude gesture towards Manchester City fans at the Etihad Stadium.
Wilshere was caught on video giving the home support the middle finger during our 6-3 loss last weekend and was subsequently charged by the Football Association.
The club accepted the charge but appealed the two-game ban insisting a one-match suspension would be a fairer punishment, but the FA rejected our appeal and Jack missed last night’s 0-0 draw with Chelsea and will also be unavailable for our Boxing Day clash with West Ham.
The midfielder has now revealed on Twitter that he reacted to abuse about his children from the City fans, but says it’s something he’ll just have to get used to in future.
Gutted not to be Involved last night! Shouldn't of reacted the way I did but I know all you dads out there love your kids the way I do….

Suppose I will just have to take the abuse about my kids in future……anyway, one more game to go! Can't wait to be back! #AFC

Footballers may be paid a crazy amount of money for kicking a ball around but they are still human and nobody should have to listen to obscenities being said about their kids.
However, as Jack says, it’s something he’s going to have to get used to or he’ll be spending more time in front of the FA.
