VIDEO: Arsenal 2-0 Marseille: Wilshere Hits Brace But Last 16 Still In Doubt
Arsenal easily dispatched a poor Marseille side 2-0 at the Emirates to move on to 12 points in Group F of the Champions League.
Jack Wilshere opened the scoring with a beauty inside the first minute and we wasted a number of chances to add to our lead – including Mesut Ozil seeing a weak penalty saved. The game was eventually in the bag when the German set up Wilshere for his second midway through the second half.
However, despite being on 12 points, qualification to the last 16 is still in the balance after Borussia Dortmund beat Napoli 3-1 in the other fixture. This means we need to avoid a 3-goal defeat to the Italians in the final game to secure safe passage to the knockout stage.
