Arsenal Make Enquiry For Juventus Striker

By on August 29, 2013

Arsenal have contacted Juventus about the availability of striker Fabio Quagliarella, according journalist James Olly.

A striker is almost certainly Arsene Wenger’s top priority as we enter the final four days of the transfer window and having been linked with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Wayne Rooney, Luis Suarez and Karim Benzema this summer, it seems we’ve turned to the bargain basement.

Evening Standard journalist James Olly has claimed today on his official Twitter account that we’ve enquired about Juve frontman Quagliarella – who has been linked with West Ham and Norwich this summer.

Is that the level we’ve sunk to? Competing with the likes of West Ham and Norwich for ageing strikers? If this is accurate, it’s truly embarrassing. Thankfully Olly says no bid has been made yet, and fingers cross we don’t table one.

Quagliarella is bang average at best. He has never scored more than 13 league goals in a season. I mean he got 9 in 27 for the Serie A champions last season. Hardly pulling up trees is it?

He’ll turn 31 in January so is at the end of his career, and nobody will convince me Quagliarella is the “top, top, top quality” player Wenger says he’s looking for. He’s a last minute desperation move because we’ve failed to land any of our other targets.

Time is quickly running out for Arsenal to save this summer but signing a player like Quagliarella just isn’t going to cut it. We’d be better off giving Bendtner another chance.

OMG! to what level have football fans fallen…Quagliarella is an awesome player and if he came to Arsenal he’d get at least 12-15 goals a season and he’s also a great team player with a nice eye for a pass and a tremendous shot from long range. This is truly disgusting how you premfaces look at players from other leagues…

With not too many days left, Quagliarella is decent tbh

I think it is too late to expect any top top quality players to start joining Arsenal. If we couldn’t get in high profile players all summer why would it be possible now when everyone knows we are pretty desperate

that’s what people have been saying since the season kicked off. yet those in charge of the club have such contempt for the supporters that they think they can just spin the “top top quality” line and we’ll be ok when nothing actually happens by 2nd september.

Wenger you’re a great coach and I respect you but now I am afraid you’ll make a fool out of youself by buying these unquality player and low bids, I suggest you leave Arsenal than the fans to leave if you going to carry on with this thing of yours
