Wenger Wants Suarez Deal Done This Week, Fellaini Also Linked Again

By on July 28, 2013

Arsene Wenger wants to have Luis Suarez on board before the end of the week so he can be paraded at the Emirates Cup and he’s also considering a move for Marouane Fellaini again, according to reports today.

After seeing two bids rejected already, the latest one being for £40,000,001 which Arsenal felt was enough to activate this mysterious ‘clause’, the Mirror claim we’re set to go back in with an improved offer of £42.5m with the boss believed to be desperate to get the deal done in time for Suarez to attend next weekends Emirates Cup.

I very-much doubt that’s going to happen if our next bid is £42.5m. Liverpool are highly unlikely to accept that figure, so if the boss wants Suarez in this week, we better put in at least £45m plus add ons.

Suarez wants to leave Liverpool but Real Madrid continue to be a real threat, so we need to get this deal sealed while the Spaniard’s are concentrating their efforts on Gareth Bale.

The newspaper also links us with Marouane Fellaini again, claiming that Wenger is keen to bring in a powerful presence to his midfield this summer and is considering activating the Belgian’s £23m release clause.

I’m torn on Fellaini to be honest. He’d be an excellent addition but I’m not convinced the 25-year-old would be the ideal defensive midfielder we need. Someone like Luiz Gustavo from Bayern Munich would be a better bet but as long as we bring in a ‘proper’ defensive midfielder this summer, I’ll be happy.

See we all fell for the wenger bull****, there will be no buys!! it was all to sell season tickets and if he was serious about buying suarez, you would put the money on the table and do the deal. funny how he argues with roma over gervinho who is worth all of a £. to somehow get 8mill, yet wont pay the other way, im sick of him, he only won the premiership before because he inherited our back line, if he had his way, he would have sold them all and we would never have won anything. i said in 2005, we would never win anything again under this guy and we wont, get real and get used to it

What back line did he inherit. How many years you think he’s been with arsenal? I’m proud to be an arsenal fans and I back Wenger’s decisions. We’ve been top four and had champions league for as many seasons as I can remember. How many other clubs can say they had a run of play like that. Would you rather sell out and buy back the premiership like Chelsea and man city. I wouldn’t trade Wenger in for any other manager. Try supporting him and not putting him down all the time

Last time Wenger won the BPL, he had the back four of a.cole, s.campbell, k.toure and lauren. Who did he inherit that backline from? English teacher? Consider changing your portfolio and start doing history. You’ll ace it! Ain’t the 90s anymore! Reckoned you’re still living in the Adams days…

Leonard my old chum get your dictionary out and look up the word ‘inherit’. Wenger brought in big sol, kolo and lauren
Now the question I was answering is who did the WENG inherit,, and the answer is,,,,, as I stated above

The invincibles had a back four & keeper that Wenger purchased, yes everyone of them,so maybe you should get your facts right before you talk such rubbish. Look beyond Wenger, it is the board that have held him back & if they had backed him & let him spend some money, we would of had a lot more trophys since

Complete rubbish all the deadwood signings are all down to Wenger, his tippy tappy predictable football is down to Wenger, his poor skills at management, his acceptance that profit drives him and not trophies, his joke of the converted 4th spot, his absurd wages at achieving nothing, so no it isn’t down to the board it is down to the fool Wenger, all you AKBs are a joke to the club

I know Wenger better than anyone. There was too much noise about Edin Dzeko, Hazard, Villa. Where are they. Now there was speculation of Higuain. He is gone. Forget about suarez. Stupid Wenger is very stinch.

    July 29, 2013 at 1:31 pm

For me the priority signing is a big DM & unlike you, I would prefer Fellaini over Luiz Gustavo. Firstly he is already acclimatised to the EPL & secondly he is much stronger than Gustavo, if it was down to me, we would already of added Fellaini to our squad, can’t believe we hung around to maybe miss out on him, we have been crying out for this sort of players for 5 years or more.
Would of preferred Higuain than Suarez & the trouble that comes with him but if we gt Suarez & Fellaini I would be very happy

We will buy nothing worth having once more and AW will give us a load of BULL

  11. Oxtyn

    July 29, 2013 at 2:34 pm

If you are expecting AW to sign any established player, you are wasting your time. Frankly speaking, the board is the problem. AW is just a mere employee & if indeed he isn’t doing the bidding of his employers (the board), he would have be fired. But what do we have? He’s being persuaded/begged to sign a new &, of course, improved contract. What does that tell you? He’s doing what they want.
Quite frankly, AFC is fast becoming a mediocre club which just makes money that ends up in few pockets (those of the shareholders, board members, & AW).
Guys, we need to realize that we are stakeholders. Our contributions through match revenues & merchandise are very significant. I guess its time to start boycotting games as well stop our patronages until they start doing the right thing.

Sometimes I laugh when people abuse wenger bcos I see them as people who doesn’t know that football is business. Even people like Platini that was an ardent critic of Wenger are begining to realize that football requires high level of financial discipline. All those clubs that has won Premier League since eight Arsernal has not won it, spent a whole lot of money to win it. Unfortunately Arsernal could nt spend that kind of money bcos they built a stadium. It costs a whole lot of money (over £600million) to build stadium of that magnitude. It was an unavoidable risky venture, bcos for U to be a top club you must have a big stadium. Arsenal owes Wenger a lot of praise bcos it takes a genius to keep a club at top 4 after spending such money. Moreover, our sponsorship deals compared with other top clubs, were nothing to write home about as at that time. So we need a top class management technique to survive by maintaining very low debt profile, fortunately today Arsernal has cross this huge huddle which even Liverpool could not dare: Big stadium, one of the best in Europe and a strong financial base with champions league to show for it. Wenger may have made some mistakes, bt that man is a genius. Arsernal is now one of the most stable clubs in the world, we can spend without fear of bankrupcy unlike other top clubs with huge debts, including ManU and Chelsea.

Fellow Gooners ! I’m getting frustrated at seeing my beloved team trophyless season after season. I do beleive though Arsenal have a great squad as they are now and a team worth capable of winning major trophies potentially. What I feel is missing is simply a couple of great role models within the current squad that can motivate the younger players throughout the season campaign and maintain the sort of beleif n determination needed to win every league game. Therefore I’m to the opinion Wenger should sign Suarez at any cost and the likes of Fellaini or any other experienced DM. I will give up on my soccer passion if Arsenal won’t win anything should they fail to win anything after adding two of the suggested players. Go Gunners !

It’s annoying with all the promise of being able to sign world class players especially with a estimated fee of £100 mil due to selling of dead wood. It takes money these days to buy top players fact. That’s football and the climate today, which I agree with Wenger is ridiculous amounts, but that’s now what it takes and can’t afford to live in the past of what use to be a good price. Clubs want as much money as possible so there going to sell them for more then there worth especially world class ones. The sad thing is the rich clubs agreed to pay which increased ever world class player up by 10 mil +. Wenger knows this and has been doing it for years selling our best players for over the odd prices, and finding and developing amazing youth players for small fees into world class stars, but he wont pay over the odds for other clubs world class players or there wages. He needs to realise now everyone buys amazing youth players now for big money so sometimes spending that extra bit for a world class players will bring success and trophies, which means more money for winning, world. class players wanting to join and youth talent for less money, more fans worldwide, profit on shirt sales and would of recuperated and made profit for the club on the purchase of the players. Now is the time to buy Fellaini and Suarez and start winning and the rest will follow 🙂
