‘Furious’ Suarez Determined To Force Arsenal Move Following Rodgers Comments

By on July 26, 2013

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been left ‘furious’ at boss Brendan Rodgers latest comments and is now more determined than ever to force through a move to Arsenal, according to reports today.

Rodgers claimed on Thursday that Suarez owed the club and it’s fans after they backed him during his race-row case with Patrice Evra and his biting incident with Branislav Ivanovic last season, stating that they’ve treated him like a son and it’s something he shouldn’t forget while considering leaving the club for Arsenal.

“The support he has received from the supporters and the people of the city of Liverpool has been unrivalled.

“In this period of time he’s missed a lot of games for the club through various reasons. The people have stood by him, like a son and really looked after him.

“Whatever happens in the coming weeks that will be in his mind because it’s something you can never forget.” Rodgers is quoted as saying to Sky Sports

Many thought the Northern Irishman was trying to pull on the strikers heart-strings with these comments in an attempt to persuade him in to staying at Anfield. However, it seems it’s had the opposite affect with the Daily Star one of several newspapers who’re reporting that the 26-year-old has been left ‘furious’ by his managers comments and they’ve pushed him even closer to the exit door.

The report claims Suarez feels he has earned that support through his performances on the pitch, which saw him score 30 goals last season, and he’s angry that Rodgers is now using his misdemeanors against him as a way to try and persuade him to stay.

I must say, while I’d love to see Suarez end up an Arsenal player this summer, I do have some sympathy for Liverpool if this is true. Before you jump down my throat, remember how we felt last summer when RVP was pushing for a move to United. All Arsenal fans were livid that he wanted to leave after one good, injury-free season, and were constantly reminding him how we’d stuck by him during seven long years of injury hell.

We were demanding he repaid the faith we’d shown in him by giving us at least another season and to be fair, Liverpool are well within their rights to demand Suarez shows them more respect after the way they’ve stuck by him over the past two years.

Of course it’s great to be on the other side of it this summer and hopefully Liverpool’s loss will be to our gain, but it does make you wonder whether you want that type of character at the club again. Suarez is no doubt a world class talent and I think it’s important we end up signing him after letting Higuain slip through our fingers, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s agitating for a move to Real Madrid in two years time if he does end up joining Arsenal.

As I’ve always said; Suarez = great footballer, horrible human being.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you want Suarez at Arsenal, or would be rather we missed out?

im reading that suarez is furious about comments but absolutely nobody has any quotes, yesterday he was apparently on a plane to london.lots of empty comments coming from where.rogers quotes are the facts that have been printed and he is saying the things that any like minded manager would say.
i can only suspect its arsenal fans trying encourage him to come or the when its going the other way its lfc fans trying to say things that will make him stay.
anyway its getting boring now and i still expect arsenal to do all the donkey work and get the price in place before he goes to real madrid at the last minute

You’re really speaking like a true liverpool fan. Anyways, that’s how it feels, you can now imagine what arsenal fans have been going through since they’ve been loosing their best players to rivals. Whether its boring or not all i’m interested in is Suarez playing for arsenal nxt season.

Even if Suarez puts in a transfer request,Liverpool can just say ” Your under contract for another 3 years ” Unless Liverpool except a deal from another club, which hasn’t happened has it.Liverpool will sell to Arsenal, but for a fair market value ( Which is £55 million pounds ) So please get your fellow fans to stop BEGGING OUR CLUB & FAN’s to release Suarez ;-( Jesus use crucified him all last season, now he’s the best thing since sliced bread lol HYPOCRITES…

have to agree with this – according to Arseanl fans he is a disgrace, cheat, diver, racist, cannibal etc etc and Arsenal woudl never have a player like that at their club . . . now all of a sudden, all change! Talk about fickle

As an LFC fan i hope the rat faced c*nt f**** off – he is more of a liabiltiy than anything else anyway. He misses more than he scores, he takes things on when he shoudln’t and forget about playing someone in who is in a bettr position on the field.

He will o to Arseanl and it will be for a compromise deal of £45m plus addons – both clubs will need to save face on this

Al. As a life long gooner and I’m coming up to 70 I’ve seen this attitude from players before, have no fear mate there is no chance he will leave Liverpool, he’s a great player and would fit in at any club. The only problem is as a human being he is the pits.

Most Liverpool fans would rather see the back of him,as long as we get what we think is a fair price. And we think he is better than Torres was when we sold him, which as use know was £50 million pound. Now everyone knows Suarez is far better,so the price is £55 million ( IS THAT SO UNREASONABLE )

I’m a life log Arsenal fan now in my fifties, and I think Luis Suarez joining Arsenal would be a disaster for the club.. I’m surprised Liverpool are trying to hang on to him after his on field antics last season, the guy is ‘sub-human’.. Liverpool are a club I respect, they have always done things ‘properly’ as a football club, much like Arsenal.. I hope Liverpool hold out for the figure they want for him, as I don’t see Arsenal paying that kind of money, which will leave this deal dead in the water… Rodgers should then put Saurez in the reserves, as a pay back for the lack of loyalty he has shown to Liverpool and let the little bastard stew in his own juice…

It’s actually reached a point we’re Arsenal also have to look at them selves, the whole scenario stinks, kronke and co have done this PR stunt to disguise the fact they haven’t spent any money themselves and usurpers who own the club are laughing at the genuine fans who are still digging deep, no malice intended at gunners fans, honestly

Every player nowadays is ‘that type of player’ there is no loyalty left so lets use Suarez for our benefit and use his goals to win something and then he can say next summer he hates the English media and wants to move to Madrid, as long as he has helped us win something, he can go! NEVER trust any footballer!!! Look Cesc will end up at Man Utd…I always thought Cesc was nearly as loyal as Thierry Henry! But he WILL be a Man Utd player come Sept 1st! Thankfully due to all this disloyalty from players such as Cashley, Na$ri and Van Pursestrings; it gets soooo much easier to get over the disrespect footballers show us nowadays!

You’ve not won the league since it was called the Premiership. We’ve done it a few times, few doubles……

As your legend Shankley said, it’s all about the league.

Anyways, how can LFC get the hump because AFC have bid money for a player?? You said no, we’ve upped it, you said no….

suarez has realised r.madrid aren’t interested in him at least for this year as they are concentrating on acquiring bale. if he gets his move to arsenal, he will probably stay till next year and then pull the ‘i’d love to play at r.madrid’ stunt all over again to engineer his favoured move. this guy as a human being is a let down and has no scruples. wouldn’t go near him…clearly wants madrid!!

    • gundownsuarez

      July 27, 2013 at 4:24 am

And you think Madrid won’t be running after someone else next year? 150 a week, CPL spot with a manager that is known to build players is worth dying for, i think you meant to say the opposite. His got the ability to grow and the opportunity seats in AFC, LFC could and always would be too much work or luck (to improve)

Ability and forgiveness are relative. The fans will forgive a player for their shortcomings if he makes up for it on the pitch. The more he does on the pitch the more he will be forgiven. Opposition fans however will hate them, unless of course he joins their team then the same rule applies. Which is why we, along with the rest of the fans in the prem hated Suarez. If he joins us though we’d be happy to forgive him just like Liverpool fans have done.

As much as i want us to get this guy, his conduct during the whole saga has been abysmal and typifies his attitude. So let’s say we do eventually sign him and he’s a huge success, a few years down the line he will do exactly the same thing to us if a bigger club like Real Madrid come calling. I personally think he isn’t worth anymore than £35million. We sold RvP for peanuts and he’s only a few years older.

    • Millz

      July 26, 2013 at 4:11 pm

You’re probably right, but who else is out there that is a proven premiership goalscorer that’s available? I couldn’t care if he f*cks off in 2 years time, so long as we get some money back and there’s someone already at the club or available to bring to the club to replace him then I’ll drive him to the airport myself. Our options are limited sadly, there ain’t many world class forwards available so Suarez is pretty much our only option.

    • Danno

      July 26, 2013 at 4:35 pm

          • tommyt

            July 27, 2013 at 9:28 am

Yep, more than fair. he could potentially win us the league and get us auto into the CL. That is worth a quick and swift bid and tie up of £55m any day. It if was Ferg that was doing this, it would already be signed and sealed and he would be training with the squad and preparing for his debut 6 games in. #SLOWOLDARSENAL

    • Arseniel

      July 26, 2013 at 4:51 pm

Hey will. Sorry to disagree but when we sold RVP, yes we were all gutted but most of us thought that £25m was a fantastic amount for an injury prone nearly 30 year old with a year left on his contract – who didn’t want to play for us anymore. Suarez is 4 plus years younger and has 3 years left on his contract. What’s more, there are far fewer players of this class available but a lot more money around. This is bound to inflate prices. Prime example – bale £100m

      • Danno

  19. LOL

    July 26, 2013 at 5:26 pm

Without his ‘misdemeanors’, Suarez is worth 55m and upwards. But with them he is worth his 40m release clause. Liverpool are kidding if they think hes worth 55m.

    • tommyt

      July 27, 2013 at 9:36 am

Problem is even if he is very much not worth it, they can charge what they want. We want him, we have to pay, it’s as simple as that. And they also know that we cannot really afford to sit around too long haggling as Real are gona be circling any day now if we don’t get is sewn up and they would prefer to sell to them so much that they would probably even sell to them for 40..

  20. tinalex

    July 26, 2013 at 5:57 pm

I have observed these debates go on and on and on without end. My viewpoint is that Liverpool behaved unprofessionally by going to the press every time Arsenal made a bid. I take that they want to seek public for the possible loss of Suarez. In the meantime Arsenal have not said anything about the matter apart from Wenger’s remark that it was a confidential and sensitive issue. By taking the matter onto the public gallery Liverpool has invited more stories and speculative news about the player. I do not think this is doing any good to their preparations for the new season.

Assuming that Suarez will stay at Liverpool for another season, this will happen under duress. In those circumstances he will not be able to perform at his best while earning his weekly wage. Assuming that he earns 80,000 pounds a week, Liverpool will have lost 4,160,000 pounds come July next year. By then Liverpool will still not be paying champions league, and Suarez will continue agitating for a move. whether Arsenal will still be interested in him is will be something else.

The longer Suarez stays at Liverpool the more it damages liverpool. It is therefore advisable that Liverpool let him go, and I believe the amount offered by Arsenal is fair, considering that Luis has his own market, which is not inflated as others have suggested. This transfer window strikers linked to other teams excluded Suarez. He was only linked to Madrid, Chelsea and Arsenal. As it has turned out Madrid has no interest in him.
