Marca: Higuain Still Wants Arsenal Move And Expects Agreement To Be Reached
According to Spanish publication Marca, Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain has his heart set on joining Arsenal and expects us to agree a fee for his services ‘in the coming days’.
All the talk over the last 24 hours has suggested the Argentinean striker was on his way to Napoli with reports claiming the Serie A outfit had agreed a fee with Madrid.
However, Marca – who are known to have close ties with Real Madrid and are often used as an unofficial ‘mouthpiece’ by the club – are reporting today that although Napoli have indicated they may be willing to pay a fee in the region of £32m, NO deal is in place as yet and Higuain’s future is still very-much up in the air.
The newspaper claims the 25-year-old is still determined to leave the Bernabeu this summer and has his heart set on a move to the Emirates. Interestingly, Marca also suggest that Higuain expects us to go back in with an improved offer within the next few days and is confident the two clubs will eventually agree a deal.
There are no quotes to back up Marca’s claims and they rarely print anything that goes against Madrid’s ‘agenda’, so it’s difficult to know what to make of the story. It could be seen as a way to instigate movement from Arsenal’s side, or conversely it could be regarded as a way to push Napoli into upping their bid.
Either way, I hope we do go back in and manage to get a deal done for Higuain and I really don’t see out move for Suarez coming to anything, and I fear if Higuain ends up going to Napoli it will simply fund Madrid’s move to Suarez.
So let’s ensure we sign a world class striker this summer by snapping up Higuain asap.

What do you make of Marca’s story? Would you go all-out to sign Higuain, or risk everything by continuing to concentrate on Suarez?
