Arsenal & Man Utd Snubbed As Fabregas Tells Barca He Wants To Stay

Arsenal and Manchester United have been dealt a blow after Barcelona manager Tito Vilanova confirmed that Cesc Fabregas has informed the club he wants to remain at the Nou Camp despite receiving offers to leave.

Champions United made an audacious swoop for Cesc on Monday after tabling a £26m bid with David Moyes understood to have switched his attention to the midfielder after missing out on Thiago Alcantara.

Arsenal have also been tipped to make a move their our former skipper with talk of a £25m buy-back clause being written into the players contract when we sold him two years ago.

However, it appears Fabregas has no intention of seeking a move, despite many newspapers claiming he’s unhappy at the lack of first team action at the La Liga champions, with boss Vilanova revealing at a press conference today that the 26-year-old has informed him he wants to stay at the Nou Camp.

“I’m aware there have been offers, I had a conversation with him and he told me that he wanted to continue here and that he didn’t want to go to another big club.

“He wants to succeed here.” Vilanova is quoted as saying by the Telegraph

While is seems Fabregas is happy to stay and fight for his place and isn’t agitating for a move, the situation could quickly change if Barcelona make it clear they’re willing to sell, so there could yet be another twist in this one over the coming weeks.
