Arsenal Open Cesar Talks With Higuain To Be Completed ‘Within Days’
It wouldn’t feel right to go through a day without an update on the protracted move of Gonzalo Higuain to Arsenal, but we could soon be put out our misery with the Guardian reporting that the £22m deal will be completed ‘within the next few days’.
It’s been one of this summers big transfer stories with the Argentinean believed to have agreed personal terms with Arsenal while a £22m fee is understood to have been agreed with Real Madrid, yet the move is still not in the bag.
Well that could be about to change with the newspaper claiming that Carlo Ancelotti has finally given the go-ahead for the strikers sale and Higuain is now expected to complete his move to the Emirates in the next few days.
As ever, we should remain cautious until it’s up on Arsenal.com but it does look like this one could be coming to a close soon.
Another player who could be joining Higuain at Arsenal is Julio Cesar with the Guardian claiming we are now set to resume talks with the goalkeepers representatives following the completion of the Confederations Cup.
It was previously reported that we had held preliminary talks with Cesar’s camp but things were put on hold while he took part in the Confederations Cup, but with the 33-year-old keeping a clean sheet during an impressive 3-0 win over Spain in the final last night, he’s now free to resolve his future and a move to Arsenal is on the cards.
Cesar is available for around £1.5m following QPR’s relegation last season and he’s said to be keen to remain in London where he and his family are settled. He’d be an excellent signing and I feel his experience will push Szczesny on to another level, so lets hope we can get the deal done soon.
