French forward wants to join Arsenal after stalling on £13m move
According to a report in the Daily Star, AC Milan forward M’Baye Niang has put the blockers on his proposed £13.2m move to Everton as he would rather join Arsenal.
We were linked with Niang when he left Caen to join Milan back in 2012 and the winger has spent time out on loan after failing to hold down a regular place during his five year spell in Italy.
After spending time with Montpellier and Genoa, Niang joined Watford back in January and scored twice in his 11 appearances during the second half of last season.
The French under-21 international is now expected to seal a permanent move away from the San Siro this summer and he’s been strongly linked with a switch to Everton in recent weeks.
However, the Daily Star are citing reports coming from Italian outlet Calcio Mercato that claim Niang has now put all talks over a £13.2m move to Goodison Park on hold as he’s hoping to join Arsenal instead.
I’ve seen fleeting reports over the past six months linking us with the 22-year-old but it doesn’t look like he’s a prime target for Arsene Wenger so Niang may be wasting his time holding out for a move to the Emirates.
The boss is in the market for attacking reinforcements as the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud, Lucas Perez and Theo Walcott have all been linked with moves this summer.

However, the papers are linking us with top class players like Kylian Mbappe, Alexandre Lacazette, Thomas Lemar and Riyad Mahrez so I don’t see Niang being high on Wenger’s wish-list to be honest.
