[Image] Partey & Tierney start, Xhaka out – My Arsenal line-up vs Man City

Arsenal take on Manchester City at the Etihad on Saturday evening. Here’s the line-up I’d like Mikel Arteta to select…

Bernd Leno will obviously start in goal and it looks like Arsenal have been handed a major boost with Kieran Tierney reportedly available for selection after being given permission to cut-short his 14-day isolation.

The Scottish international should start on the left side of the back three with David Luiz in the middle and Gabriel starting ahead of Rob Holding on the right. Shkdoran Mustafi is back in training but a place on the bench is the best he can hope for.

Hector Bellerin should continue on the right flank while Ainsley Maitland-Niles will probably start on the left. However, I’d prefer to see Bukayo Saka starting as I think he offers us a lot more than AMN.

The big question is whether we’ll see Thomas Partey making his Arsenal debut against City this weekend. The midfielder has been training with his new team mates for the past two days [see photos here] and Arteta says he’s fully fit so I’d throw him straight into the team. Partey is going to be a huge player for Arsenal and will be a big upgrade on our current midfielders so let’s not waste any time.

There is very little chance Arteta will drop Granit Xhaka but I’d personally like to see it happen. I know what Xhaka brings to the team but I also don’t forget that his lack of athleticism is a real issue. So I’d like to see Partey alongside Dani Ceballos tomorrow.

Obviously Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will start in the Arsenal attack and I’d keep him on the left with Alexandre Lacazette coming in to lead the line up front. That would mean Eddie Nketiah dropping to the bench.

Nicolas Pepe made a great impact against Sheffield United last time out but I’d keep him on the bench tomorrow with Willian given the nod on the right side of the Arsenal front three.

Here is how I hope Arsenal line-up:

So much wrong here. Pepe way better than Willian, Tierney should not be played out of position, throwing Partey into the mix without him knowing our style risky as well. Hopefully we don’t play to the opponent’s advantage as we did vs. Liverpool and emphasize our weakness rather than our strength.

The selection is a fairly good one to try in the 1st half; but Thomas should wait and study the play until 2and half inorder to get with the rest of the team and create an immediate impact.

      That’s good analysis,
Arsenal should not go in for goal for first half…… they should text their capabilities and improved to withstand the strengths M-city.

madness to leave out Xhaka in this game and it being Parteys first game !! cannot for the life of me think why would anyone do that ?? it has to be 4 3 3 and play Partey Xhaka and ceballos, as we have Tierney available for the game so for me it has to be Leno Bellerin Holding/Luiz Gabriel Tierney Ceballos Xhaka Partey Saka/Auaba Auba/Eddie Pepe/Willian

Arteta will go with 3 4 3 fact as he wont dare not to !! I think this is a bad idea and he will also keep partey on the bench !! again i think this is wrong ! it is the best time to play City who will be without key players and only one striker available to them. Its the best time to change formation to 4 3 3 with Tierney available and why we brought Partey !! its the best time to go at City but we wont we will sit and soak it up and try catch them on the break !! lets hope Arteta has the strength and goes for it and changes formation to 4 3 3 !!

Xhaka should be in the team. I am not sure Saka should start.

Arsenal news feed should be available, and Thomas Partey should start first appeared for the first time debut in Arsenal against Manchester city
