Confirmed line-ups: Aston Villa vs Arsenal: Nketiah, Torreira & Kolasinac start

By on July 21, 2020

Arsenal take on Aston Villa at Villa Park tonight in our penultimate Premier League game.

Boss Mikel Arteta has made some changes from the side that beat Manchester City in the semi-finals of the FA Cup on Saturday night with Rob Holding coming-in for Shkodran Mustafi after he picked up a hamstring injury at Wembley.

Sead Kolasinac is also recalled with Kieran Tierney given a rest while Cedric Soares replaces Hector Bellerin in the right wing-back position for Arsenal. Bukayo Saka is another player recalled as the youngster comes in for Ainsley Maitland-Niles on the left flank.

Eddie Nketiah is given an immediate recall after completing his three-match ban and he starts alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette in attack. Nicolas Pepe is the man to drop out.

Lucas Torreira starts in midfield for Arsenal tonight as Granit Xhaka drops to the bench. Dani Ceballos keeps his place in the middle of the park but there is still no place for Mesut Ozil in the matchday squad.

These are the teams for the match:

Arsenal

Martinez, Holding, Luiz, Kolasinac, Cedric, Ceballos, Torreira, Saka, Nketiah, Lacazette, Aubameyang

Subs: Bellerin, Tierney, Papastathopoulos, Maitland-Niles, Pepe, Willock, Macey, Xhaka, Smith

Aston Villa

Can someone explain to me what it is that Arteta sees in Nketiah to believe that he is good enough to start in the Premier League.
