Arsenal have offered a full team news and injury update on Arsenal.com ahead of our Carabao Cup quarter final with Tottenham on Wednesday night.

Let’s start with the good news and Stephan Lichtsteiner has been passed fit after recovering from a minor knock that he picked up during our disappointing 3-2 defeat to Southampton on Sunday.

Lichtsteiner’s availability could be important as Hector Bellerin is a doubt to face Spurs tomorrow night after being forced off against Southampton at the weekend with a calf injury.

Sead Kolasinac missed the trip to the south coast due to a thigh problem and the Bosnian international will also need to be assessed by the medical team before his availability against Tottenham is determined.

Our problems in defence could continue as Shkodran Mustafi is yet to be declared fit and available for selection as he continues to nurse a hamstring injury that he suffered during our win over Huddersfield.

With Rob Holding obviously out with a season-ending knee ligament injury and Dinos Mavropanos still not back in training from a long-term groin problem, we will have limited options in defence if Mustafi is ruled out again.

Emile Smith Rowe is set to miss out in the League Cup on Wednesday night as he’s still recovering from a hip injury so he remains on the sidelines with long-term absentee Danny Welbeck – who’s unlikely to play again this season due to a broken ankle.

Here is the team news update on Arsenal.com:

Stephan Lichtsteiner
Fit and in full training following knock at Southampton (a).

Hector Bellerin
Left calf. Being assessed ahead of Tottenham Hotspur (h) on Wednesday, December 19.

Sead Kolasinac
Right thigh. Being assessed ahead of Tottenham Hotspur (h) on Wednesday, December 19.

Shkodran Mustafi
Right hamstring. Being assessed ahead of Tottenham Hotspur (h) on Wednesday, December 19.

Emile Smith Rowe
Right hip. Expected to return to full training in December.

Dinos Mavropanos
Groin injury. Expected to return to full training in December.

Rob Holding
Left knee. Recovering after surgery.

Danny Welbeck
Right ankle. Recovering after surgery.

Let’s hope Bellerin, Mustafi and Kolasinac are all passed fit but it will be interesting to see what kind of team Unai Emery puts out against Tottenham tomorrow. Obviously we don’t want to lose to that lot but we also need to keep our key men fresh for the Premier League games that are coming up over the busy festive period.
