[Photos] New Arsenal signing makes first start during secret 9-0 friendly win
New signing Bernd Leno made his first appearance in an Arsenal kit after starting during a behind-closed-doors friendly win over Crawley Town this afternoon.
We kicked off our pre-season preparations with a resounding 8-0 victory over Boreham Wood last weekend but Leno wasn’t involved as Petr Cech was the name chosen by Unai Emery to start between the sticks.
However, the German stopper – who completed his move from Bayer Leverukusen earlier this month – was handed his debut today as he lined-up against Crawley in a secret friendly at London Colney that saw Arsenal run out 9-0 victors.
The likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sead Kolasinac, Alexandre Lacazette, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Hector Bellerin, Sokratis and Aaron Ramsey all featured in the game as they continued their pre-season preparations ahead of the new campaign.
Youngsters Eddie Nketiah, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Kostantinos Marvropanos, Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith-Rowe, Jordi Osei-Tutu and recent signing Matteo Guendouzi also got some game-time in north London.
The squad will fly out to Singapore on Sunday ahead of our participation in the International Champions Cup in Asia where we’ll take on Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain before heading back to Europe for further friendlies with Chelsea and Sevilla.

Please keep Lucas Peres. He is a good player all he needs is play time. I like his team work mentality and is very intelligent. keep him he will do well.
