Attacker keen on move as Arsenal look to secure £45m signing before World Cup

By on March 21, 2018

According to the Mirror, Arsenal are set to launch a £45m bid to sign Nabil Fekir and we hope to wrap-up a deal for the Lyon attacker before the start of the World Cup.

Arsene Wenger [if he keeps his job] is under pressure to rejuvenate his squad this summer following a poor season and while a new keeper, centre-back and midfielder are all priorities, we also need to add some width to the squad.

A number of players have been linked with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks but Fekir has been touted as a long-term target and it looks like we’re ready to formalise our interest in the Lyon star.

The Sun, via the Mirror, claim that Arsenal are set to table a £45m bid for the 24-year-old and hope to get a deal wrapped-up before the World Cup finals kicks off in June.

The newspaper says Fekir is eyeing a move away from France this summer and he previously named Arsenal as one of the clubs he’d be interested in joining when he does leave Lyon.

Fekir has developed in to one of the most exciting players in Europe having provided 21 goals and 6 assists in his 34 appearances in all competitions this season so I think he’d be a superb addition to the squad.

The French international can play anywhere across the attacking midfield positions so he’d provide us with another option in the final third to compete with the likes of Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

However, we aren’t the only club showing an interest as the report says Barcelona are also keeping an eye on Fekir ahead of the summer so we’ll do well to fend off competition from the Spanish giants.

Yeah! Like we have over £300m to spend on such an overhaul; not to speak of the disruption such a massive influx can cause the team. Once the word is out, the fees for those players go up significantly and even the players you wish to sell will be seeking lower sale prices to enable them get good contracts. Not a situation a club like Arsenal should be in. Sorry.
