Arsenal cleared to sign £45m Brazilian star, talks already underway
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have been cleared to push ahead with the signing of Malcom after Tottenham pulled out of the race to sign the £45m Bordeaux attacker.
Arsene Wenger is in the market to sign another attacker to replace Alexis Sanchez as our Chilean star is set to leave this month with Man Utd and Man City battling for his signature.
Malcom has emerged as a prime target and the Daily Mail claim that we’ve now been cleared to land the talented South American after Tottenham withdrew their interest.
The newspaper says Bordeaux are ready to sell if £45m is put on the table and it looks like we’ve been boosted in our pursuit as Mauricio Pochettino has turned his attention to other targets.
The news comes after Italian outlet Gianluca Di Marzio claimed earlier this week that Arsenal have already held talks with Malcom’s agents about a possible move to the Emirates this month.
A meeting with Bordeaux chiefs is also understood to have taken place recently so it seems Arsenal’s interest in the Brazilian attacker is serious and we’re trying to get a deal thrashed out.
Malcom has emerged as one of the most exciting young attackers in Europe since moving to France two years ago and he’s expected to be named in the Brazil squad for the World Cup finals.
The 20-year-old has provided 7 goals and 4 assists in his 18 Ligue 1 appearances this season and he can play anywhere across the attacking midfield positions so he’d be an excellent signing if we could get a deal agreed.

Lets face reality. The French league is below that of the Big 4 in Euro soccer. That means he could be a big fish in a small pond.
He could have a problem adjusting to the demands of the epl
where potential career ending tackles are tolerated by refs.
I know class is permanent and hopefully he will flourish.
