Video: Man City 3-1 Arsenal: Offside goal kills the game at the Etihad
A controversial third goal killed the game as Arsenal slumped to a frustrating 3-1 defeat to Manchester City this afternoon.
After a solid start, we predictably conceded first as poor defending led to Kevin De Bruyne lashing home from 18 yards in to the bottom corner.
City then dominated and should have added to their lead but Aaron Ramsey almost grabbed an equaliser just before half time when he forced a good stop from Ederson.
The hosts were then awarded a dubious penalty shortly after the break when Nacho Monreal bumped in to Raheem Sterling. It was soft but Sergio Aguero scored off the pst for 2-0.
Arsenal rallied and pulled one back thanks to a low drilled finish from Alexandre Lacazette through the legs of Ederson and suddenly it was game on.
However, once again the hosts were given a huge helping hand by the officials as David Silva was somehow allowed to play on despite being a yard offside, the Arsenal defence froze [due to Silva being clearly offside] but the officials waived play on and he set-up Gabriel to make it 3-1. Terrible decision. Game over.
The awful refereeing decisions certainly didn’t help us but that doesn’t excuse our poor performance and bizarre team selection by Wenger.
Here are the goals:

Bad decisions didn’t lose this game. Man City being infinitely better than arsenal did. Alexis Sanchez is the only player at arsenal who’d trouble the City, Utd, Chelsea or Tottenham team sheet. If you name any other player you’re kidding yourself. Arsenal have to face the fact that they’re not what they used to be and teams from mid table upwards have no fear of playing them. Look at what Troy Deeney said. Come the end of the season arsenal will be 6th at best. You want proof of how much straw clutching is going on? Wiltshire is being held up as someone who can change the fortunes if he stays fit…..he didn’t even make an impression on Bournemouth’s season!!

Bitter City twat, best side don’t automatically win, they have to turn up and we turned up just did not get the rub of the green like City or at Watford.
