[Photo] Arsenal star poses with award after winning FIFA’s Puskas best goal prize

Olivier Giroud has shared a photo of himself posing with the Puskas Award after winning FIFA’s best goal prize for 2017 in London last night.

The Arsenal striker was nominated for the award for his stunning scorpion kick goal which he scored during our win over Norwich last season.

As I’m sure you’ll all remember, it wasn’t only Giroud’s sensational finish that caught the eye but the Frenchman’s goal came after a lovely flowing move that started on the edge of our own area.

Giroud beat off competition from Venezuela’s Deyna Castellanos and South African goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke to win the 2017 Puskas Award at a glitzy ceremony last night.

It was a deserving winner as it was a truly unique goal, however, let’s remind ourselves that Giroud’s strike didn’t even manage to win the Premier League Goal of the Season as Liverpool’s Emre Can won that award for a decent overhead kick.

In fact, Giroud didn’t even win goal of the month as Andy Carroll somehow won that prize for his scissor kick. Let’s br honest, both Carroll and Can’s were fine goals, but not a patch on Giroud’s.

Giroud can’t win goal of the month in the Premier League but wins FIFA’s best goal of the year in the entire world? The skeptic in me would believe this is just further evidence of a bias against Arsenal here in England.

Anyway, well done Oli….here he is posing with his award and another chance for you to watch his goal:

Today’s Giroud’s amazing goal award is a sort of gratification and proud for arsenal fans in the world; yet a message for the subjectivity of English football association’s decision(ask why?????)and the gambling of some referees against Arsenal every year on important point of time. Wow, thanks Giro!
