Arsenal in battle to sign top class French international

By on September 18, 2017

According to a report in the Mirror, Arsenal are ready to do-battle with Tottenham and Inter Milan over the signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot this winter.

Rabiot is a name most of you should be familiar with as he’s constantly been linked with a move to Arsenal for several years with Arsene Wenger believed to be a huge fan of the midfielder.

He joined PSG’s youth team in 2010 and is now considered as a first team regular having started all seven of their games in all competitions so far this season.

However, Rabiot’s long-term future at the Parc des Princes is in doubt as he’s inside the final two years of his contract and is yet to agree terms over a new deal.

PSG are desperate for the French international to stay but the longer Rabiot goes without signing an extension the more chance there is they will have to cash in.

And Arsenal’s name is once again being linked as the Mirror are citing a report from Calciomercato that claims we are ready to try and lure him to the Emirates when the January window re-opens.

I’ve been crying out for Arsenal to sign a top class central midfielder and Rabiot would be a superb addition if we could somehow manage to sign him this winter.

However, not only are PSG determined to keep him but the newspaper reports says Tottenham and Inter Milan are also vying for his signature so it’s going to be a difficult deal to pull-off.

Personally, I expect the 22-year-old will decide to remain at PSG and sign a new deal as long as he continues to be a first team regular over the coming months.

Why would he want to leave PSG for Wenger’s Arsenal ?
