[Photos] Alexis Sanchez all smiles after returning to Arsenal training
Alexis Sanchez looked in good spirits after returning to London Colney to begin his pre-season training programme with Arsenal today.
Sanchez was granted an extended break after helping Chile reach the final of the Confederations Cup this summer and he was originally scheduled to return over the weekend.
The 28-year-old was given two extra days off due to illness and we saw photos of him arriving back in London this morning after making a quick trip to Paris to secure his visa.
I originally thought Sanchez was due to resume pre-season training tomorrow but it seems he made his return today as photos have now emerged of Alexis smiling at London Colney this afternoon.
Obviously he was training away from the main group as he’s a few weeks behind so will have a special pre-season training regime to follow over the next couple of weeks.
However, it’s a great sight to see Sanchez back at Arsenal and he’s expected to hold crunch talks with Arsene Wenger over the coming days to resolve his future.
Speculation in the media suggests that Sanchez will try to force a move to Man City but Wenger insists he won’t sell his star man even if he doesn’t sign a new contract this summer.
It’s going to be interesting to see how it all plays out but fingers crossed we hold our nerve as it would be a huge blow to see Sanchez join City. Maybe we could even persuade him to sign a new deal if we start the season well.

It is too late for Arsenal to turn back on keeping Sanchez unless they want to lose face completely with the fans. Arsenal cannot afford to lose more grounds to our rivals.
