Arsenal star left Wembley on crutches following FA Cup win

By on April 24, 2017

Arsenal might have another injury concern to worry about as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was spotted leaving Wembley on crutches following our 2-1 FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City yesterday.

The Ox kept his place in the right wing-back role after impressing against Middlesbrough last week and he was once again influential in the new role as we booked our place in the FA Cup final.

The 23-year-old was excellent in both defence and attack as he set-up the crucial equaliser for Nacho Monreal with a pin-point cross in the 71st minute on his way to picking up the Man of the Match award.

However, Oxlade-Chamberlain was substituted in extra-time and walked gingerly off the pitch as he was replaced by Hector Bellerin in the 105th minute.

He was seen hobbling as he went to celebrate with his team mates after the final whistle and Manchester Evening News journalist Stuart Brennan revealed on Twitter that The Ox left Wembley on crutches as he made his way on to the team coach.

There are no further details at this stage and Arsene Wenger didn’t express any concerns that the midfielder had picked up an injury during his post-match press conference, so hopefully Oxlade-Chamberlain was just suffering from severe cramp.

I’m sure we’ll find out more over the next day or so as Wenger will hold a press conference tomorrow ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League clash with Leicester City.
